I have the setting "Skip CB Activation" in profiles >> Community Builder set to "Yes", but it does not activate the users when someone signs up.

John,
What version of JFBConnect, Community Builder, and the Community Builder profile plugin are you using? That will help us determine a solution, as we've implmented quite a few fixes through time to correct this issue as it crops up.

Also, please post from the account you subscribed from, as priority support is for active subscribers.

Thanks!
Alex

Yes, those are the most current versions, which is a good start. Again, please post from the account you subscribed from. We'll gladly investigate further, and help you to solve your issue, but support does take time, and is for subscribers only.

We'll also be releasing an updating Community Builder plugin over the next few days that may help to alleviate some issues, but can't guarantee it will help your specific situation.

Thanks,
Alex

I think this is the account I subscribed from. Please note that Alwin, who posted in a different thread is my developer. Since I purchased from my facebook account, I have no way of giving him the login details. Can you create an account with a username and password that we both can use for support? The account fb_100001841811039 is just a test account on facebook I was using to test this out.

Michael,
No worries. I just added Alwin to the same subscription as your account, so you both can post. We have no problem with sharing a subscription if there's a developer or two working on a site :)

As for the issue you're seeing, it's usually caused by having a required field in Community Builder that isn't being filled out by the user. CB won't let us (JFBConnect) save the user to the database if they're profile isn't complete. Currently, there's 2 ways to fix this:
1) Don't have any required fields in CB that aren't being imported into from Facebook
2) Use the "Full Joomla User" user creation setting in JFBConnect and in the Profiles tab, set the "Show non-mapped required fields" to Yes. This will show the user the required fields during the registration process.

As noted above, we'll be releasing an updated CB profile plugin for JFBConnect over the next few days which will add validation to step #2 above. Unfortunately, right now, we show the fields, but if a user chooses not to fill them out, it can still cause issues saving the user. The updated plugin should correct this.

Hope that helps get you started in determining the cause, but if you don't think what I've mentioned is the issue, we'll help you to investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Regarding the number 2 suggestion you gave. Will this require the user to enter a username and password to create the account? One of the main reasons I wanted this Facebook Connect feature was to avoid making users have to create a new login. I am about to try your first suggest, I will inform how that goes after I test it.

Thanks,
Mike

I just tried both suggestions and neither worked.

You probably already know this, but I figure I would post it incase you dont. If an account already exists with the same email on Facebook and is activated on CB, the plugin works, it pulls the info down. So I assume the problem is most related to activating an account in CB.

Maybe you can give a nice hack for CB to always allow automatic activation for any account :)

Yes, the problem has to do with initially creating the user in CB. The only time we've seen this happen is when there are fields marked as 'required' in CB. If you could, please go into the Field Manager in CB, and try marking all fields as not-required, and try again. With it configured that way, JFBConnect will function in either Facebook User Only (no registration forms) or Joomla User Only.

If that doesn't work, we'd probably need to look at your site configuration to determine what could be causing the issue, as that would be a new failure reason.

Thanks,
Alex
