Hi,
I have two sites where JFBConnect 9 is installed. Both are configured.
When I post a link on FB from the site with Joomla 3 I display the image correctly.
If I place a link on FB from the site with Joomla 4 the image is not seen.
Regards,

Can you give me the entire URLs for the pages you're sharing on both the J3 and J4 sites? I'll need to look into whether the Open graph tags are set properly or not.

We deleted your message that had credentials. Please don't post those here as this is a public forum. I'd recommend changing those credentials just in case they were viewed/copied by someone else.

For looking into your issue, we simply need to view the page on the front end of your site that you are having issues with. We do not need administrator access at this point.

Can you please post the URL to an article or other content you are sharing which is not appearing as you'd expect?

Thanks,
Alex

When I enter your links into the Facebook Social Debugger for J4 here and J3 here , both have og:image tags set appropriately and are showing your article image in the preview correctly.

Having the correct preview on the sharing debugger indicates that the tags are set correctly. It's very possible that the page had not been scraped by Facebook after JFBConnect was set up for inserting the tags, causing FB to not know which image was to be used. I am unable to use the share button on your J4 page since you're in developer mode. Can you try the share again and see if you have the same behavior?

If you do continue to have the problem, I do have a bug fix release that I'm going to be putting out within the hour with a separate fix for J4 and Open Graph images. If so, I'd suggest trying that before we continue trying to figure out the problem.

The share button on your J4 site shows a correct preview image (as seen in the attached screenshot). This means that we've set the og:image tag correctly.

However, when performing the share to my test FB feed, I do also see that the image is missing in our Facebook feed. Additionally, when using Facebook's own social plugin generator , the same behavior occurs. The preview looks correct but the feed post has no image.

The J3 page previewed and shared correctly. Comparing the tags on the two sites, the only real difference is I see that J4 has an og:locale set to it_it, but the J3 site does not. In the JFBConnect backend Social Meta configuration area of your J4, can you 1) add og:locale to the skip tags section, 2) re-scrape the page with the social debugger and 3) atempt to re-share it?Facebook has recently done some adjustments to like/comment/social plugins regarding EU countries. Perhaps this has some bearing on why they won't render the item on the feed.

Hi Melissa,
I did what you wrote to me and I think and I hope I have done well.

I inserted the tag og: local, scrapped with the FB tool.
I then posted the article again. (img-1)
The image is correct before clicking on the "Publish" button (img-2)
Once published, however, continues not to be seen.

I also noticed that in the article the FB button is not seen while Twitter is. The button from BE is enabled and in the page code it looks like everything looks ok. (img-3)

Regards,
Claudio

Facebook has added multiple restrictions on when and how the Like button is displayed when in a visitor is from the EU. You can read more about it on their page describing the Like Button in the large section "Changes to Social Plugins in the European Region":
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button/

As for the image not displaying, unfortunately, there's not anything further we can do about that. The tags are properly being set and even the Facebook Debugger is showing them correctly.

The only suggestion we'd have at this point would be to wait a few days to let Facebook's cache fully update the new tags on your server. That's not a great answer though.

The best way to proceed would be to submit a bug report with Facebook about the issue with the same details you've provided here. You can submit a bug report using the following link:
developers.facebook.com/support/bugs/

I hope that helps, but if there's anything more you need from us, please let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
