How do I add connect to buttons to my user profile page?

I'd like something like the "connect to" buttons under "my account" upper-right on your website when I'm logged in ... but I want it on my joomla user profile page. I'd like my users that are logged in to be able add / edit their social connections.

Actually surprised I can't do this in your website... where can I as a user in sourcecoast see and edit my social connections?

I'm using Joomla defaults for (1) menu item type 'Edit User Profile" (2) menu item type 'Registration Form', and (3) module tyle 'Login' ... and all looks and works as I'd perfected it using template provided overrides and CSS.

FYI - I've been unable to use your SCLogin for several reasons ... can't get the modal pop-up to show and css will take me several days - or longer to get it looking OK for me ... and I already have Joomla default working ... so why bother..? My login link pop ups a modal which may cause a conflict "<a href="#" role="button" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#login">Login</a>" ... I will likely open a new ticket on this subject.

JFBConnect has a special menu item for "Account Settings" that you can use to show a user's connections to social networks as well disconnecting those networks from their account.

To use it, create a new menu item and select "JFBConnect -> Account Settings". Once created, you can link to it from wherever you want, such as a user profile page or navigation area.

As for our site, you're correct, we don't have a link to that page currently. It's something we did have before, but when we upgraded our shopping cart system about a year ago, it seems like we didn't add it back in. I'll add it to our to-do list.

Regarding the SCLogin module, if it's styles or functionality don't work on your site, that's fine. JFBConnect does not require the use of the SCLogin module and we have multiple options to automatically add the login buttons to the normal Joomla login or registration pages as well as our easy tag {JFBCLogin} which can be used to add the login buttons anywhere else.

CSS is always tricky as it's impossible to make work for all templates, though our styles are usually compatible with most. We also have a theme system so you can override the layout or styles as necessary to match your site.

If there are functionality issues though, definitely let us know and we'll gladly investigate and try to help get you going!

Thanks,
Alex

As a menu item it can only show on it's own page. Any chance you can instead make this a module or {easy tag} so I can easily add it to content top for my user profile page?

Also, as a user not connected I would prefer beside the X to have text 'not connected' - I was confused by the X thinking I was connected and if I clicked on the X it would remove the connection. As a user with a connection, the check mark and and text 'LinkedIn is connected' is great ... but clicking 'Unlink' only refreshes the page (?!) - can you fix this?

Also, as an admin I would like to see what info is shared with us (we only use LinkedIn) and it would be great if admins can also select what users can see too - ideally we would like our users to see that we got their email address and LinkedIn URL ... what info do we get from LinkedIn ... can we save it to the database and compare to LinkedIn ... and sync them when different?

Thanks so much for your quick and excellent reply!
