Hi:
I'm pretty sure I am going to buy your extension since it does come with a 30 day guarantee. My question is, what would be the best way to redirect new users to fill out the JomSocial customized profile questions that users would normally have to fill out after logging in for the first time?

We are a church that will be using JomSocial for our membership roster, so we will need to collect data for the different ministries that will eventually show up on each member's profile.

My first guess would be to just redirect them to the "edit profile" page after their initial login, but I am not sure if the facebook info would auto populate and I would not want to have them have to retype their info for a second time.

Yes, you can redirect directly to their edit profile page. You'd need to have a menu item setup for this, but that's pretty simple (and we can help). Once redirected there, their Joomla user account will have already been imported and all of their profile information and avatar sucked in from Facebook. Therefore, the information that's pulled from Facebook would be pre-filled in, and they can simply update/add/approve what's there.

We also have 2 different redirects, one for initial registration (where you could send them to their profile) and another for a returning user, so you can send them to a more appropriate page other than always showing them their profile.

Hope this helps, and we're very serious about our 30-day guarantee. If you aren't satisfied, just let us know, and usually, refunds are processed within 24 hours.

Thanks, and good luck!

Sounds good, but will the redirect for initial registration force them to fill out the rest of the information? On the integrated Joomsocial facebook connect it will get the information from facebook then prompt the new user for the rest of the customized questions.

If those fields are set to required, and they hit save with them blank, JomSocial will throw an error. However, if they simply navigate away from the page, there won't be anything to prevent them from doing that. I believe that's how JomSocial's integration works too, but I haven't tested all the functionality recently.

Good luck!
