Can JFBConnect be used to import someone's LinkedIn Profile... I have a site where they want to have someone provide their "resume" info... and they suggested getting the info from LinkedIn.

Yes, using JFBConnect's social profiles plugins you can import LinkedIn data into your third-party profile extension. You'll need to enable the extension and set up the JFBConnect backend > Profiles area. If you'd like to look at the documentation on how to do so, please read it here .

Currently support fields to import from LinkedIn are: First Name, Last Name, Maiden Name, Formatted Name, Headline, Current Location, Current Country Code, Industry, Current Status/Last Share, Number of Connections, Summary (Long description), Specialities (Short description), Current Position, Current Position - Company, Current Position - Title, Current Position - Summary, Current Position - Date Range, Profile Picture URL, Authenticated Profile URL, Public Profile URL, and Primary Email Address.

Melissa,

Thanks... Sounds like it will work great for our needs.

I was wondering if it something we could expand upon, if our client has some other fields they are interested in?

Thanks again!

You can see the fields available from LinkedIn on the page below. Mainly, focus on the top 3 options for Basic Profile, Location and Position fields. We don't support all of those, but our code is pretty easy to update if there's a specific field you'd like to import. The biggest issue you'll run into is formatting. If you want to just import something as text, it shouldn't be that hard.. if you want to map a user's city to some database in your system of different locations, it's much more difficult.

I hope that helps,
