Am fairly new to both joomla and JFBConnect so please bare with me if the solution to any of my queries is in the setup somewhere but i have tried hard to go through the setting but all in vain. These are the problems that i am having.

1. On the joomla article while using this module the facebook share button is sharing the wrong page, When i click the facebook share button on ABOUT US page, JFBConnect is sharing the HOME front page.

2. Registered Users avatar not showing on posts but showing on User Map, honestly i don`t even know how to activate it or make it show. I have tried everything i can think of. Here is what i want to achieve if a user registers using JFBConnect their social media profile image should fill in the default joomla avatar field is a way that their image will always go side by side with their post and the same should happen to the original joomla registration but now they will have to upload the avatar. At the moment i registered connected via JFBConnect with my facebook credentials but the profile image was not picked up.
I have set Show Faces: Yes on Content Plugin - Like

3 My facebook name was shortened to some form of a user name. I would like to have it that those who register using jfconnect on their posts their full names should show and not a generated user name.

QUESTIONS:

4 How can i disable the faceboook like button and just leave the facebook share?

5 How can i activate the social share button on kunena forum?

DETAILS:
Joomla! version: 3.3.1
Kunena Version: 3.0.5
JFBConnect Version: 6.1.1
K2 Version: 2.6.8

First, no problem for asking questions. We have a lot of documentation, but finding the right answer for a specific question may not always be easy.

1. On the joomla article while using this module the facebook share button is sharing the wrong page, When i click the facebook share button on ABOUT US page, JFBConnect is sharing the HOME front page.

Likes/Share counts are all counted by the URLs on your site. JFBConnect tries to guess the 'best' URL for each page to prevent your Like/Share count for a single article from being spread across multiple URLs across your site. In the case of your About page, it's the same article as the home page. You can check that by going to your About page and clicking the "Press Release" title. That brings you to your home page. JFBConnect is simply using the 'best' URL for the share/like buttons.

2. Registered Users avatar not showing on posts but showing on User Map, honestly i don`t even know how to activate it or make it show. I have tried everything i can think of.

I'm assuming you mean you want the avatars to show in Kunena, correct? If so, please:
* Go to the Plugin Manager
* Enable the Social Profiles - Kunena plugin
* Configure how you want the user's social network profile imported in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area

3 My facebook name was shortened to some form of a user name. I would like to have it that those who register using jfconnect on their posts their full names should show and not a generated user name.

In the JFBConnect -> Configuration area, there is a setting for "Auto Username Prefix". Set that to the format you would prefer. Other options are:
* Configure Kunena to display the user's name, not their username
* Turn off the Automatic Registration feature of JFBConnect. The users will then have to fill out their own username during registration.

4 How can i disable the faceboook like button and just leave the facebook share?

* Go to the JFBConnect -> Social -> Content Plugin - Like area.
* Set "Show Facebook Button:" to "Off". That setting is for the FB Like button. There is a separate option for the Share button.

5 How can i activate the social share button on kunena forum?

We don't have an automatic way to add the sharing features to Kunena, like we do with Joomla content. What you can do is:
* Use the JFBCSocialShare module and place the sharing buttons in a standard module position
* Use the JFBCSosialShare module and create a 'floating' sharing bar, like in the bottom right of every page of our site.
* Create a template override for your Kunena thread view and add the social buttons using our easy tags, {JFBCLike}, etc.

If you need any more information about the last question, just let me know. We'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your quick reply.

DONE ISSUES:

1. Well Understood - Thanks
3. Got that - Thanks
4. I was there before but the language used is not precise, it says ( Show Facebook Button ) it should be ( Show Facebook LIKE Button ) - Thats Done

OUTSTANDING:

2. * Go to the Plugin Manager - Done
* Enable the Social Profiles (Kunena plugin) - Done

****** Configure how you want the user's social network profile imported in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area
****** I did that and got this message:
(Use the tab(s) below to configure how JFBConnect should integrate with other components on your site.
No JFBConnect Profile plugins are currently enabled.)
Was i in the right place and how can i overcome that?

5. * Use the JFBCSosialShare module and create a 'floating' sharing bar, like in the bottom right of every page of our site.
This method sounds more appealing to me, i have tested it following your instructions, it works fine but it looks like varies from template to template.
If you can please assist me on **** Create a template override for your Kunena thread view and add the social buttons using our easy tags, {JFBCLike}, etc.***** I try and see if it will be the best option for me.

Thanks a lot

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this, and your Private Message.

#2) Kunena Profiles - In your PM, you note that you can send the admin credentials to your site. Please do that, and we'll gladly take a look at what may be wrong with the Kunena profile integration stuff.

#4) Social Sharing - If you can post (or Private Message) links to two pages where they styles look different, that will help us understand what may be wrong. Also, let us know what page you like better. Also, so you know, the styles we've set for our JFBCSocialShare module parameters are:
URL To Share - <blank>
Layout - Button Count
Orientation - Horizontal
Position - Float
Margin - 5px
Padding - 5px 0 0 5px
Background Color: #fff
Float position from top: 3000
Float position from left: 3000

Try those settings as it may get you close to what you're looking for as well.

I hope that helps,
Alex

In your PM, you mention that you haven't re-installed JFBConnect on your new site yet. We normally don't perform installation services because there are a ton of different features in JFBConnect and they can all be configured in many different ways depending on how you want your site to run.

I did go ahead and install JFBConnect and then enabled the authentication, user and system plugins, which are required for most functionality. I also enabled the Social Profiles - Kunena plugin. Once done, I disabled caching in the Global Configuration area, as it should generally be disabled while you're developing your site. Once it's live, turn that back on.

With that, all the options I'd expect show up in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area.

I can't test anything since none of your social network application information is set, but you look good to go from here.

Please test and let us know if you have any questions or run into any issues.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for taking your time to help solve our issues.

I have activated the facebook plugin and its working.

Now here comes the main issue which was my initial query on this thread :

When a user registers using SCLogin, the login details work fine across the site, thats Kunena and K2 but the profile/avatar picked from the social media is only showing fine on the Kunena forum on K2 comment or new post post the avatar is NOT showing.

I want the user avatar collected from the SCLogin to show on both the Kunena and K2 at the moment its not showing on K2 but the user can post on K2 only that the avatar will show the default image (images/placeholder/user.png)

How can the proper avatar display on bothe K2 and kunena?

This is the issue that is holding my site.

Many Thanks

Have you enabled the Social Profile - K2 plugin? If so, you should be able to configure the profile import settings in there.

Let me know if that's setup as you'd expect it to work, and we can help you further from there.

Thanks,
Alex

I had not done that but now i have enabled the Social Profile - K2 plugin and enabled more of the social profiles you can see this on my admin using the details in your pm.

This is the situation now:

When a user logs in using facebook SCLogin, it works perfect, the user can post in forum and on K2 with both showing the avatar/profile image collected by social login.
However am still stuck on manual registration, when a user clicks the register button under SCLogin or just registers on the site the avatar on kunena forum is missing the user can post on both Kunena forum and K2 items but the avatar will just appear on K2.

How can i set it that users can register using SCLogin (which is now working perfect) and those that are not on the social media can register manually and have their avatar appear on both Kunena and K2 (at the moment avatar is missing on forum)

Thanks

The SCLogin module simply integrates with the standard Joomla registration flow. There isn't a way for us to control how the manual registration occurs as that's handled by the users component built-in to Joomla.

I know that Kunena and K2 have ways to let users register and upload their avatar during registration. You can set the SCLogin module's "Registration Component" to Kunena to have them register using the Kunena flow. K2, I believe, has a User - K2 plugin which alters the Joomla registration form with it's fields.

I hope that helps explain further on what JFBConnect can, and can't, do. If you have any other questions though, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
