Alex, hi, I know I have used up a lot of your time, but I wouldn't have contact you unless I tried all possible solutions. I cannot get the images to show when I am sharing a page on Facebook.
I went through the forum, but did not find a solution - mind checking it out?

You can't ask too many questions :) We get a lot of our feedback from users on how to improve things, both by what isn't working or what features may be missing. Don't hesitate to come here first if you're running into issues.

For your problem, the Open Graph Image tag (og:image) isn't set on the page. The content on that page looks to be from K2. If so, please make sure you've enabled the Open Graph - K2 plugin. That should automatically detect and set an appropriate image for the page to use when shared.

You can test the page by running the page through our Social Debug tool. There's a handy listing of the tags that are detected as well as a preview of what a share would look like. After you enable the plugin, try running the page through that tool again.

I hope that helps, but if you run into any other issues, just let me know!

Thanks,
Alex

I'm not sure if I'm being an idiot here, but I cannot find the K2 plugin in the Plugin Manager, I did see it on JED, but it just leads me to your website, with no place to download?

It should have been automatically installed with JFBConnect. If you didn't have K2 installed when you installed JFBConnect, our installer would have skipped that plugin (we try not to clutter your system with unnecessary plugins).

I'd recommend either:
* Downloading and installing the latest JFBConnect v6.1.2 release. It will update your site to the newest version with some new features and bug-fixes. It will also install the Open Graph - K2 plugin
* If you don't want to upgrade for some reason, unzip the installer package for the version of JFBConnect you're using. Then, install the /admin/packages/plugins/opengraph/k2.zip file using the Joomla installer.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Great, managed to do so, checked the plugins, it is installed, but I ran this post after, and I see it is not picking up the images:

That page looks to be restricted to logged in users only. Facebook acts just like a guest or a search engine when they are scanning your content. The page you linked to automatically redirects to the login page, so that's what Facebook or search engines will think is the page that is being referenced.

The only way for Facebook to see what the Open Graph tags for your page are is to allow it to be accessible to guests. That's not a restriction we can really get around.

I hope that helps explain, but if you need anything else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

That makes so much sense!

I have now set the blog post to public - still no images, do I need to clear some sort of cache?

Run your page through the Social Debug tool . If you're logged in as the admin of your site while viewing the page, you can click the "Preview" button from our social tool bar if that's enabled as well.

Social Debug will have Facebook refresh it's cached Open Graph tags from your site and show you a preview of what a post should look like. Once done, things should start working right away.

I hope that helps!
