Have JFBConnect 6.1.1 on my site at newsitetesting.ottawavalleycurling.ca ad I can't get social posting to work at all.

On the facebook side, I can't get past the "The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept thecorrect permission." Problem is that when I do try to authenticate, I get nothing from facebook...it just sends me right to the user ID linking page.

With Twitter, I can get it set up, but when I try to post, it fails.

I've deleted and recreated users, deleted and recreated channels, cleared my joomla and browser cache, logged in and out, even copied and pasted in the code hack that was posted here, but still nothing.

Any ideas?

Never mind.....seems the solution is going into Joomla's global configuration for users and tunring off "Allow user Registration"

<facepalm> Wish ida found that a few hours ago :)

Paul,
I'm sorry to hear you ran into such issues with the Social Posting feature. The code hack you found isn't required any more, as an improved version of that is in the 6.1.1 release.

I have no clue why or how turning off the "Allow user registration" setting affected the outcome. That definitely does not need to be disabled for authentication or social posting to work. If you need that setting enabled, or you run into other issues with this, just let us know. We'll gladly help you get to the bottom of things.

Thanks,
Alex
