Hi Alex,

1 - Yes, it was the notification from Facebook. I suspected we have no control on that, but perhaps, Am I missing anything on settings ?

2 - I entered the emails with a comma-separation, without spaces. Like:
[email protected],[email protected],[email protected]

Maybe, Have I to enter the emails going to head? Like:
This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.,

1) No, I don't think you're missing anything there. That's how Facebook works. They want you to go to their site to manage things.
2) We just did some testing and multiple emails worked as expected. We haven't modified or touched that code in a while and haven't heard any other reports from users about it not working either. The proper way to enter the emails would be:You should not have a space or a carriage return. Also, make sure there's no extra spaces at the end of the last email. The text-area will wrap the emails, which can make it harder to read, but hopefully it's clear.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working for you. The next steps I'd try are further testing to narrow things down. Lets say you have This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. you want to send to. Add each one individually and test if they both are sent when only set one at a time. If so, then try adding them together and even try different ordering, just to see if it makes a difference.

I hope that helps, but keep us posted on any issues you have.

Thanks,
Alex

2 - I updated to JFBConnect 6.1 and tested again: still doesn't work.
I tested with 1 / 2 / 3 emails without success. Now also with 1 email doesn't run. No emails are sent.

So, I'm testing it on a live site and I have some dubts:
- Is the notification email triggerid how many times ? Is there a time delay from posting comment to sending email notifications ?
- How many time I have to leave the comment on site (before to delete it) to be sure the notification email is sent ?
- Is the notification email sent in any case ? Or is there any check and, for example, is not sent if is a moderator that post comment ? (I'm testing commenting with a FB moderator account)
- Is the notification email sent also if I uncheck/unselect the "Post on Facebook" ? (I'm testing unselecting that option)

I'm not sure why it's not working for you. JFBConnect doesn't have any restrictions on when the mails are sent. If a comment is created *and* Facebook properly notifies us, we send the email. So, any of the following are possible:
* Facebook is not notifying JFBConnect due to a Javascript issue or something similar preventing the notification.
* The "Post on Facebook" box must be checked for Facebook to notify us of a new comment. I didn't think this was the case, but it's worth testing on your own.
* The server is not sending emails properly or the emails are being marked as spam automatically

Please test different things with the above in mind. I'd still recommend trying with just one email first to get that simple case working first.

Beyond that, please feel free to Private Message me admin credentials for your site so that we can add our own email address and narrow down further what's happening.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I need your help. I made a lot of tests and still I'm not able to have Comments email running as expected. I think I'm missing something.

----1----
I always made tests posting with one of the two "App Developer - Sviluppatori di Applicazioni"

----2----
In first of all when I post a comment I need to reload the page manually to see it. Because when I'm commenting, clicking enter the comment simply disappear... If I reload the page manually the comment saved appear...

----3----
JFBConnect > Social > Notifications/Analytics > Addresses to Notify: [email protected],[email protected],[email protected]
* Facebook is not notifying JFBConnect due to a Javascript issue or something similar preventing the notification. = I don't know How to check.
* The server is not sending emails properly or the emails are being marked as spam automatically = Any spam issue
* The "Post on Facebook" box must be checked for Facebook to notify us of a new comment. I didn't think this was the case, but it's worth testing on your own. = "Post on Facebook" box checked or unchecked is the same, sometimes send email, sometimes no. For example with tests I made today any email is arrived...

----4----
Now, if I go on one of my articles site, at the bottom, I can see the Facebook Comment.
If I'm logged in Facebook I can see the settings icon up on the right. Clicking on it I have back this screen, where there are these fields:
- App Developer - Sviluppatori di Applicazioni
- Moderators - Moderatori
- fb:admin

settings-screen.pdf

Now, when I asked you about fb:admin you wrote me:
this can be set in the Open Graph -> Configuration -> Defaults area. Simply add:
admin=1234,456,888
Where each number is a Facebook User ID that you want to designate as admin of your FB App. That Open Graph tag will be set on every page of your site and will allow those users to moderate comments and do other things.

Here in Facebook at the FAQ "How can I moderate my comments plugins?" there is an answer that really I don't understand... as far as I understand there are 3 user levels:
- App Developer - Sviluppatori di Applicazioni: The Facebook Application Developers that can manage the Application and its statisctics
- Moderators - Moderatori: That as wrote on settings screen "Moderators will be able to hide public comments, just like app admins, and will also receive notifications for new comments made to the site."
- fb:admin: Who are ?!? The "app admins" mentioned on Moderators explanation ? - Reading the FAQ seem that set this is a must to moderate: "To moderate, you need to list yourself as an admin." - Again on FAQ: "If your site has many comments boxes, we strongly recommend you specify a Facebook app ID as the administrator (all administrators of the app will be able to moderate comments)." What does it mean ?!?

----5----
again, at the bottom of settings screen I have a link: "view abjects on debugger". On that page I have back two warning messages:

Like Button Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Like Button Tag Missing og:image is missing. The og:image meta tag is necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high click-through rate.

Open Graph Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Meta with name instead of property The meta tag on the page was specified with name 'author', which matches a configured property of this object type. It will be ignored unless specified with the meta property attribute instead of the meta name attribute.

Please, What are and What have I to do ?

All this happen on a live site where you have yet an account, if needed I can give you a Super User access and also credentials to one of the Facebook App Developer

Sorry for all the delays in this. Your case is very odd and not an issue any other users are reporting.

Can you please Private Message me with the following information:
1) The URL of a page where the Comment box isn't working properly.. where the comments don't appear until the page refreshes
2) Super admin credentials for your site
3) FTP credentials to your site

We'll need to see what's actually happening on the front-end, be able to make JFBConnect configuration settings and (possibly) alter some files to diagnose why emails aren't being sent as expected. Once we have all the above, we should really be able to narrow down and tackle what's happening.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I sent you a PM, but I never received a reply from you. Pease, Can you update me ?

After that, yesterday from JFBConnect I had received an email notification for a comment, but, I'm working with Seblod List & Search to display my articles and Seblod manage also the SEF URLs, while in JFBConnect email notification the article URL is not SEF, so not the same:

my right Seblod Seblod URL: mydomain.org/corsi/articletitle
the URL added into JFBConnect email notification: mydomain.org/13-category/22-articletitle

Please, How can I add the right URL to the email ?

PS an info for you: Advance the Joomla URL Router

Thanks for the PM with details. I just accessed the admin area and left my email address in the notifications list. I simply added it to the list of email addresses that were already there. I then left multiple posts on the corsi/master-aimfi page from your site. In each case:
* I was sent an email about the new post
* The URL was correct
* Post immediately showed up without having to refresh the page

From what I can tell, everything is working properly from that. It also indicates that multiple emails should be working, though I obviously can't test if the other 4 emails that were listed received the email. If they didn't, I'd have to recommend checking your mail settings to ensure they were sent, delivered and not in the spam folder.

In your private message, you wrote:

4 - From my last post, on this site, using Seblod "List & Search Type" I setted new SEF URLs. So, comments posted on those pages disappeared and now on same those Facebook Comment (when I'm not logged in Facebook) appears an error message and appears the "Comment with" option while I set to comment using only Facebook:

If you change the URLs of your site, the comments will be lost from the 'old' URLs. All comments are associated with a URL on your site. When that URL changes, there's no way for Facebook to know that comments from the old page should be shown on the new URL. In general, we recommend not changing your URLs at all.

The "Attention: Unreachable" message at the bottom of the new URLs is common from Facebook. It simply means that Facebook hasn't 'scanned' that page yet. It will on its own, or you should be able to run the page through the Facebook URL Debug tool to update its cache immediately.

Finally, above you mentioned a page where the URL doesn't come in correctly through the email. Can you PM me the actual URL so I can see what's going on? In general, JFBConnect will try to determine the 'best' URL for a page on your site and use it for the comment box. Joomla usually has multiple URLs that can go to the same page. Because of the issues above about Facebook associating comments to a specific URL, we always try to only use one URL for specific content. It may not always be perfect, but it does ensure that the comments all go to the same content. Since the emails are only to administrators, the URL shouldn't really matter.

I hope that helps, but if you can help determine any other ways to test or specifics on what's going wrong, that would really help. I can't recreate the email issue at all from my limited testing.

Thanks,
Alex
