OG tags was created by rodster
Hi,

I would like to only add og:description for homepage but for articles etc let it be generated automatically as it does now with own image etc.

How can I accomplish this? right now I do not have og:image, og: description as it overwrites also the articles images etc which I do now want.

1. First, to get the image and description tags for your articles, you will need to enable one of our Open Graph plugins (Open Graph - Content, Open Graph - K2, etc - whichever one is appropriate for your page). If you want to be able to customize the article/image, you will then need to set up an Object in the JFBConnect > Open Graph > Objects area.

2. Next, to get the separate image and description for your homepage, I would suggest one of the two options:
A. Add SCOpenGraph easy-tags to just your home page, using {SCOpenGraph image=FULL_PATH_TO_IMAGE} and {SCOpenGraph description=Home Page Description}
B. Adding Defaults to the JFBConnect > Open Graph > Configuration setting. For articles with a description/image already, JFBConnect should ignore this value. Multiple image tags can be added to a page and any images already inserted by an article *should* be added first and given priority.

Try both of these steps and let me know if you still have any problems.

Hi.

1. plugin already enabled.
2a. any idea which file to modify?
2b. when I use the default option, all articles get same image, desc etc that is not what i want.

Not clear to me how to use option 2 by tagging separate pages

rodster,
You can add the tag in various ways to target a specific page. It really depends on your configuration.
* If your home page is one article, simply add the tag just to that article's contents
* Use a Custom HTML module and assign it just to the home page (or any other Custom HTML module that already exists). Add the tag into the HTML area. Make sure you disable the Show Title option in the module and try to put it in a location where it doesn't create formatting issues
* Edit your template file itself. Many templates have a special 'home page' template, where you could add the tags as well.

I hope that helps give you some ideas, but if you still need help, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
