Hi,

I'm using Version: 6.0.1 of JFB for my website. Do I need to upgrade with respect to this? Thanks!

JFBConnect v6.1.0 introduced support for Graph API v2. Unfortunately, since you are using a version earlier than that, yes, you will need to upgrade.

Once you do upgrade JFBConnect:
JFBConnect is built in such a way that we will try to use Graph API v1.0, if available, since it's actually more flexible. However, when Facebook pulls that trigger in April and kills v1.0, we will seamlessly work with 2.0. If you want to make the change now, you can go to the Facebook Apps area and then to Settings -> Migrations and enable the "Use Graph API v2.0 by default" migration setting.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi Melissa,

Given that I will have to upgrade soon, is there a documentation on how to do this safely? Will my current JFB settings affected or changed? Also, I am using CB 1.9.1 and I have no plans of upgrading it soon. Will the latest version of JFB work with CB 1.9.1? If not, what's the latest version of JFB that would support CB 1.9.1 and Facebook's API 2.0?

Thanks a lot!

The upgrade process for JFBConnect is meant to be as smooth as possible. Simply install the latest version and all your settings will be maintained. If you have an active subscription, you can even use the Upgrade Manager built into Joomla to have the update installed for you.

The current version of JFBConnect supports CB 1.x and 2.x, so you shouldn't have any issues there when upgrading either.

We hope that helps, but if you have any questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
