Dear Alex,

As follow up from my previous topic: how can I get teasers from my website on my business Facebook page? As soon as I post an article on my website, I would like to have an annoucement of some sort on my FB page. Pressing a few buttons like 'like'or 'send' is fine with me.

Your suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thansk and regards,

Paul

Paul,
The best way to do what you're looking for is to actually go to your FB Page and use the "Write Something" box where you post a status update. Give a brief intro to your article and personalize it to your FB audience. "Hey, we just made a great blog post, check it out". Then, paste the URL from your post into the status update box. When you paste it, FB will automatically go to your page and fetch the Open Graph title, description and image that are set and create the little 'page info' box under your post. Once that box appears, you can actually delete the URL from your status update and the box will remain.

Once done, you'll have a nice, tailored message for your FB audience for the new article. FB will have fetched the info from the page and the title of the 'page info' box will be clickable for users to go to the actual article.

Hope that helps get you going. It shouldn't be a long process once you've gone through it once or twice. Should you need assistance or have any questions though, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Dear Alex,

This recipe works as a charm. Never knew that using FB could also be easy.

Thanks and regards, Paul

Paul,
Yup, it's not so bad once you have the steps to do it easily. We get a lot of requests for "Automatically posting to Facebook". We are planning to implement that later this year, but would still recommend the above. Being able to make a nice 'intro' message that is personalized can go a long ways toward making your post a lot more visible, instead of just the title, image, and first line of text from the article.

Automation has it's place, but for important promotion, doing the 'manual' proces above (which frankly isn't that hard) is definitely better from our experience.

Of course, the Open Graph tags and other things that JFBConnect is doing behind the scenes is a big help as well :)

Anyways, should you need anything else, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex
