Hi.

I remember that Jomsocial's Facebook Connect had the ability to Import user status from Facebook. This is very very important. I haven't seen this option or experienced this so far in using JFBC. (So far, I've only seen an option to Post statuses to Facebook in JFBConnect).

How is the Import user status from Facebook set up?

There's an option in the Profiles area of JFBConnect called "Import Status". Enable that, and when the user registers or logs in, their Facebook (or LinkedIn) status will be imported into their JomSocial activity stream.

You need to have the Social Profiles - JomSocial plugin enabled to see those options, but it should be there in the Profiles area if you do.
