Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you :) Today we finished all the remaining issues in our tracker for the 3.0 release. Tomorrow, we're planning deep dive and finalize a solution for your avatar import problem. That should make us ready to release 3.0 stable either Sunday or Monday.

The avatar issue seems to only be affecting 2 users so far. That doesn't mean we're neglecting you though. We do have a planned solution, but are trying to determine how we want to implement it to not increase the chance of affecting all other users. We may try logging into your site tomorrow to test our code (since we can't recreate the problem on our development sites). Please don't disable our super admin account.

Hope you're not upset with the support. This is taking a little longer than we'd like too, but we will get you setup, even if we have to implement something very specific to your site.

Thanks!
Alex

Actually, when you say "I disabled the exporting of jomsocial avatar to facebook", you meant importing from Facebook to JomSocial, correct? Or is there some other setting I'm missing that you're playing with?

If you're disabling the importing of avatar in JFBConnect, you really shouldn't see any message about the avatar since we shouldn't even try to fetch it. So that's something else we'd look at tomorrow when log into your site...

Thanks again

Re: avatar problem, caused by jspt?

Actually, when you say "I disabled the exporting of jomsocial avatar to facebook", you meant importing from Facebook to JomSocial, correct? <-- that is correct. It is late here and I am not to good at expressing myself :p

Jansverre,
Good news. I think we found a solution on your site that seems to be working. We try to verify that cURL and a few other PHP settings are correct before we download the profile picture. By disabling this check, the picture comes down fine (though blurry.. that will be fixed in the 3.0 stable version). We know why our checks were failing, and have a general solution that should work for everyone.. which makes us breath a sigh of relief. We already implemented this 'enhanced checking' on your site.

Now we're going to go test on the other user who had the same issue. Please let us know if you see any other issues. We haven't tested with JSPT much, so that's an unknown area. However, we don't see how that would present any problems.

Thanks again for your patience!

Jansverre,
3.0.0 was just uploaded and is now available. This release should have a fix for your issue, but please test after you've installed the update.

Thanks!

Very glad to hear it's all working as expected now. We didn't call it 3.0 for nothing (no longer a release candidate, yay!)
