SCLogin has stopped sending emails. I'm not sure if this occurred when I updated to Joomla 3.2. I am using SCLogin v3.2.0 and the system used to work perfectly a couple of weeks ago. Of course, the whole extension is useless without being able to manage new members and lost passwords! My whole website is now offline. Has anybody noticed this?
I am also curious as to whether the extension can allow variation in the email message (providing I every get one again!)

The SCLogin module doesn't send any emails. We rely on the Joomla User manager for the registration of users, sending of emails, and even logging them in. The SCLogin module is simply a very configurable 'theme' to be applied to the Joomla User manager. The functionality for the user is not managed by us.

My guess is that the problem is a Joomla 3.2 issue, though I haven't heard of it before. To completely narrow it down that way, I'd recommend simply enabling the standard Joomla mod_login module and using that. If you have the same behavior, that will guarantee it's not an SCLogin specific module.

Finally, I'm going to move this topic to the SCLogin forums after this, as that's the proper place for this post. Please look for it there.

Thanks,
Alex

Are any other system generated emails working? Joomla! 3.2 now authenticates the email address provided in the from Email field in Global Configuration / Server / Mail Settings. If the address is not valid, no system emails will be sent. If this is the problem, you won't receive any error messages to point you in that direction either.

Just a guess, but it could explain the behavior you are seeing.

Cheers,
Mike

Mike,
Thanks for the tip as to where to look. I didn't know that Joomla 3.2 is validating the from email now, and could definitely see where the could cause some problems for emails not being sent. We'll keep it in mind in case others have issues.

Thanks,
Alex
