Popup module not showing

The symptoms are the same as in this post

I am using Joomla 3.10.6 and the Joomlart Edenite-II template. Theme is default.

 Under inspector, I see that the div with id login-modal-163 has the hide class. When I remove this class in the HTML editor, the popup appears.

In the post referenced above, there was a fix in CSS. But they reply only shows the CSS selector, not the CSS code to do it.

Editing out the hide class doesn't always work. It always displays the popup, but sometimes as intended and other times in the background.
