Error: Uh oh! We could not fetch that page.
Category: JFBConnect

Well that's interesting. current/smile

Since everything seems to be working otherwise, do you think this might cause any issues that I should look out for? The reason I ask, I'm using HostGator just to get my site up and running, at which point I'll move it to a dedicated server at Dream Host. I know this won't be an issue there. So as long as I can get the site working properly, I can just keep moving forward.

Error: Uh oh! We could not fetch that page.

Hello,

I'm having trouble with Autotune connecting to my home page during Error Check, I get the following:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JFBConnect Remote Error Check
Checks performed on: http://woodmutts.com/
Error: Uh oh! We could not fetch that page.
Couldn't resolve host 'woodmutts.com'

If you are having Facebook authentication issues after correcting any warnings and errors above, please ensure your Facebook Application is "Live". You can enable that setting by:

Going to the Facebook Application Area
Go to the the "Status & Review" section
Make sure the top switch for "Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?" is set to YES.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing I can figure is the main site url does not include the trailing slash, but I'm not able to change it since the Facebook app requires the slash. The site is not off line or blocked in any way, and I do have the app available to general public set to YES.

Any ideas what might be causing the problem? I can provide ftp and admin access if needed.

Thanks

Renewed Social Package but got only JFBC
Category: JFBConnect

I clicked on the renew button next to my expired Social Package but it seems to have renewed only Facebook Connect. I was billed 59.95 so it's not a billing issue. But I want the package discount, rather than being charged separately. Please advise, thanks current/smile

Every time I see this I have one of those "uh oh" moments when I wonder what I did wrong, if only for a moment. Unless there is a good reason for using "warning" red, maybe a change of color is in order? Maybe "good going" blue or "attaboy" green? I just felt this is worth mentioning. current/smile

I'm setting up my community to use jfbc and jlinked exclusively, overriding Joomla's registration being disabled. Can I allow members to change their username? I would like to use usernames sitewide (thus allowing privacy for real names) but I'd rather not have prefixes_ with every username.

I can't find the css code to fix the button
Category: JFBConnect

Where do I edit the CSS for the facebook button, namely the .fb_button, a.fb_button, .fb_button_large, etc... I can't find it anywhere and my button is ugly and I can't get rid of the blue box around it. The attached file shows it in a popup module but it's the same in a standard module position. Sorry, I can't link to the page because it's not online yet. Hope this is enough info.

Thanks

Restricted to only allow facebook login?
Category: JFBConnect

I am running Joomla 2.5 with JFBConnect and JomSocial. Is it possible to restrict signups to facebook accounts only, and not allow regular sign up at all? Thanks

EDIT: Just figures, no sooner than I post this I found that I can remove the registration and standard login fields from JFBConnect module. So I guess another question is, will this prevent people from using Joomla or JomSocial standard signup? I only want facebook signup. Thanks (again)

Built in update fails
Category: JFBConnect

But then how will I update after my subscription expires? ( hee hee )

I took a look and that ARS seems to be a good solution. So the update link, in that case, will be in JFBC control panel rather than using Joomlas update system? Not that it matters, just curious. I for one don't mind using generated code, seems no different than using a license key.

It sure would be a lot simpler if Joomla was designed to, somehow, allow the user to login to the devs website for updating commercial extensions. Something like a pop-up window that says "Please log in to upgrade this extension", and the devs could have a simple plugin/module on their site that the pop-up window would link to.

Anywayz.. you mentioned more features for 4.2? Cool! current/big_smile

Built in update fails

Just a thought, maybe the next release could have a license key, without which the product will not function. That way you could allow Joomla to use the auto update feature and still rest assure only licensed users (or users with a valid key) can use the extension. I can't speak for others but I certainly don't mind using a license key, as long as it works.

Or maybe require the key just for the update process? Like I said, it's just a thought.
