I do have another module which does this (sortof), however it takes AGES to load and I have to set it to show only 5 friends, it doesn't have pagination and shows no other info than the avatar and name (bit rubbish really). I have no idea why it takes so long compared to the module you built, but I am sure you could do a better job, I was very pleased (and surprised) when I tried your one and it loaded so fast (great work ).
I am using lots (LOTS) of plugins, but for myself am only really interested in the core stuff anyways, just to set up the basic name and avatar, but CB not JS. I would expect users to fill out any more info they wanted on there themselves .
The CB What are you doing plugin would be nice if it could sync with the facebook status though, not sure how easy that would be (if it could sync both ways would be excellent), but that isn't cb core.
Would be nice to have your 'friends' from facebook as clickable links though (so you click to view profiles) set up not very different from the invite plugin, that would be cool perhaps as another module?
Me too! CB is better as it is a base framework rather than a pre set profile setup (I have both and much prefer the CB profiles as I have some excelent plugins to go with it).
Best to all!
I have the module/component installed and it works very quickly with the invite tool to bring up the facebook friends (and looks very nice too thank you ).
Can we have an option underneath each friend to "View Profile" or pehaps another module to show friends that allows to visit profiles (or even better with options to a) visit joomla profile, b) visit facebook profile, of the friends?
This would be great
Also, I do have JomSocial, but primarily use CB (it is more functional/customisable and has a lot more plugins), are there any plans to include CB integration (I could hack the code to swap the JS fields for CB ones I guess, but would prefer if it was done by a decent coder )?
More integration the better!
Thanks for all your work!
I have installed and added the api keys. I can log in using the facebook log-in and associate the account fine. Users also appear to be able to register ok using facebook details (so it is mostly working fine).
however, when using the invite facebook friends tool, I select the friend (all friends show up fine) and click the send xfbml invitation button, this shows up fine and I can adjust the custom message (all well so far), but on sending this I get redirected to <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.connect.facebook.com/render_fbml.php">http://www.connect.facebook.com/render_fbml.php</a><!-- m --> which says there is a mistyped url somewhere.
I have looked at the settings and tried to play, but can't seem to get this last bit sorted. Perhaps you know what is wrong (I am guessing you have come accross this) or can point me in the right direction?
EDIT - Ok, I found it, it is the 'post invite url' that needed adding in the invite module settings! (I had mainly been looking at the facebook application thinking the error was there!)
