No, I have quit using this extension until I can examine it further. Hardly any feature for it has worked.

With the jfbconnect module active I get "too many redirect" error screens when I browse to my home page and am logged into FB. Was just guessing it could be a cache issue.

With the JFBConnect module on I frequently get a white screen + redirect loop / too many redirect warnings, which seems to correspond to being logged into FB and then browsing to the Joomla page with the JFBconnect login module. Refreshing the page a second time will load it properly. Mostly I am seeing this in Chrome.

Thanks...will check back later.

I noticed that when I'm logged in with Facebook already, the Joomla facebook Connect module recognizes my linked Joomla account as already logged in--except when it doesn't, which I am guessing is caused by the module being cached in a logged out state. Is this a known issue, and does it involve the system cache and/or the general module caching? There is not a cache parameter on the module.

Clicking FB module button results in the following error if "Import Avatar Upon Registration" is set to "yes" AND "Create New Joomla Users" is set to "no" :

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'FacebookRestClientException' with message 'An unknown error occurred' in /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48954/domains/xxxxx.org/html/administrator/components/com_jfbconnect/assets/facebook-api/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php:2458 Stack trace: #0 /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48954/domains/xxxxx.org/html/administrator/components/com_jfbconnect/assets/facebook-api/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php(1232): FacebookRestClient->call_method('facebook.users....', Array) #1 /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48954/domains/xxxxxd.org/html/components/com_jfbconnect/helpers/communitybuilderhelper.php(139): FacebookRestClient->users_getInfo('536844210', Array) #2 /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48954/domains/xxxxx.org/html/components/com_jfbconnect/helpers/communitybuilderhelper.php(49): JFBConnectCommunityBuilderHelper->migrateFBAvatarToCB() #3 /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48954/domains/xxxxx.org/html/components/com_jfbconnect/controller.php(62): JFBConnectCommunityBuilderHelper->importFBProfile() #4 / in /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48954/domains/xxxxx.org/html/administrator/components/com_jfbconnect/assets/facebook-api/facebookapi_php5_restlib.php on line 2458

Also, when FBconnect logins are successful, the module does not show the FB avatar....

Has this been resolved? Core SEF issue? I am getting it after trying to register a new account or login to an existing account after clicking the facebook connect button.

This error is the result of the module code using short open tags (not advised) and php.ini or .htaccess directives to disallow short open tags for security reasons.

Solution: remove short open tags from module tmpl/default.php

This also occurs with Chrome and Joomla's core SEF.

You also need to have all the settings right at your facebook app page.

You need to take a look at Joomunity's use of Facebook Connect. You can create new accounts in Joomunity instantly by just using an FB profile or bind an existing Joomunity account to a Facebook account. Then Avatars plus some other things are imported automatically. With further tweaking, you can import more user FB data.

JomSocial really needs this kind of functionality. I was looking in here to see if JFBConnect would work with JomSocial, but if it can't create Joomla counts and log people into Joomla, it's not that useful to me yet.
