I set up a new app on FB and got a new API key.  The issue may also have been that the 2 plugins were not enabled.  But it seems to be working now...

I had the component and login module installed at a test site.  When I set the site live a problem began.  When I place the login module on a certain page, and then click on the menu item to go to that page...  i am returned to the home page.  In other words, JFB login breaks the link to the page it is on.

Can't figure out what is going on.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same issue is happening...  See foodieaspen(dot)com.

ok, good to know.  hope you guys are catching a little sxsw!   <!-- s:geek: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_geek.gif" alt=":geek:" title="Geek" /><!-- s:geek: -->

This redirection is not working.  I have it set to show Jom Social, but it just takes the user back to my homepage.

This is, of course, in the JFC Login module.  Do I need to adjust something in the FB App Setting?  How do I make this work?   <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarrassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

Justyn,

Make sure you have not already created a user for the FB account you are testing.  Check the FBConnect "User Map" and be sure to delete the account there.  Also, delete the created Joomla account in the User Manager.

After that, clear all your private data (cookies, cache), and try the process again.  If this does not solve it, then something else may be causing your issue.

UPDATE:

OK, so I think I figured it out.  After having a friend test and it working for them, I started to look around some more.  I had been using my own FB account to test the system.  After creating a new joomla account through FB Connect, I had deleted that joomla user account.  However, I did not realize that the FB account was still listed under the FB Connect component/User Map.  When I deleted my account from there I was able to create a new registered account and login again without the error.   current/roll

So, thanks for the help guys!  Sorry for the confusion.  Hopefully this post will help others in the future.   current/tongue

There is still a problem.  When you say

Application Settings Editor

do you mean The component Global Configurations?  I added my URL there, but it is still not working.

Basically, I go to the homepage.  Click on the FB Connect icon in the dropdown from the upper right corner.  The window pops up and I enter my email and pass.  Then I am taken to the

Redirect Loop

error page.  When I try to refresh my browser I can not get back to my homepage without clearing all the private data from the FF browser...

Really trying to get this up and going ASAP.  Any other suggestions?   <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

I was redirected to this forum for this issue.  This is the error I am receiveing after trying to sign in through FB Connect:

Code:

Redirect Loop

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

I am using Joomla core SEF.  I edited /facebookhelper.php file.  Cookies are enabled for the site.  Can anyone take a look at it at clockworkgreen.com?  Will Uninstall/Reinstall possibly help?

<!-- scurrent/neutral --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_neutral.gif" alt="current/neutral" title="Neutral" /><!-- scurrent/neutral -->

This seemed to be working, and I can not figure out what I did to break it.  I tried overwriting the files from the originals, and that did not work either.  When I enter my FB email and pass, and try to connect, something breaks.  You can see it at clockworkgreen.com

Cookies ARE enabled on FF.  I get this error:

Redirect Loop

ok, so i do not see any friends on your site either.  must be my FB account.  here are my privacy settings, and it seems like this should be working.  anything i need to change?

This component is awesome!  My facebook profile transferred and I automatically had a Joomla account.

Just having one issue with the jfbInvite module.  No friends are showing up for me to invite.  I checked my privacy settings on FB, and everything looks fine.  Why do I not see any friends?   current/sad
