Is there a 1.5.9 XML file available?

Is there a 1.5.9 XML file available?

We are on 1.5.9 and starting to plan to go to 1.6.   We have added a bunch of customizations.  Due to staf turnover we do not have the best documentation of the changes.

You tool is going to be a life-saver for us.

We need a 1.5.9 XML to work with.

Has anyone made one?

Re: Is there a 1.5.9 XML file available?

I tied the md5xml.py tool from this forum.  I get the XML structure but NO folders or files in the .xml output file.

I am using it as follows:
  md5xml.py '1.5.9' Joomla_1.5.9-Stable-Full_Package.bz2

I have the script and the release zip in the same directory.

Initially my python 2.6.5 system advised me to replace md5 with hashlib in the import statement.   I did this and got an error free run.  I am using Gentoo Linux  2.6.28

Any suggestions?  Do I have to unzip and rezip or ??

Resloved it.  I missed the unzip the release to a directory first.

Thanks.

Re: Is there a 1.5.9 XML file available?

Sorry to not get back to you very quickly. We were travelling the last week, so the free extensions didn't get the normal level of support that we normally shoot for. I hope your migration went well.

We removed the releases prior to 1.5.10 because the zip file was over 2mb, which is a limit on some servers.. so we made a judgement call to cut it off at that point. Unfortunately, this affected you.

If you have any other questions or feedback about the process, let us know.  We'd love to know how your migration went, and how you're liking Joomla 1.6!

If you use our extensions, please consider leaving a rating and review at the Joomla! Extension Directory:

Re: Is there a 1.5.9 XML file available?

I was able to use md5xml.py to create it.  I added it to my administrator files and ran VVC successfully.

I then wrote some Bash utilities to use the VVC output to profile my system for retrofitting in 1.6.

I want to upload them for other users.   I tried to do so and got a file not selected message.  The attachment is about 80MB as a bz2 tarball.

What do I need to do to attach the tarball?

Between August 3rd and 4th, the Joomla project put out 2 new releases for the 3.6 series and 3 blog posts explaining the changes and how to update. The rapid fire changes may be confusing, especially when reading through the announcement posts that talk about CSRF, PHP versions, security issues with different levels and other details. If you're unsure what to do, read on for a general overview of the updates and a step-by-step guide on how to update. https://lnkd.in/ejGeG9X

Joomla's caching system can be a huge benefit to your site, but can also cause a lot of headaches. The advantages are obvious: an overall better user experience, faster load times, less powerful server requirements and more. We're not going in-depth on the benefits here though. Read our blog post to learn about some of the pain-points that you should know about when trying to get Joomla's caching setup. https://lnkd.in/d_c_eaK

With the launch of v2.0 of the Facebook Graph API over 2 years ago, a new review process was also implemented for all Facebook Applications. The review process is Facebook's way to verify that deeper integration features on your site are abiding by Facebook's Terms of Service. There's a lot to understand about the process and some of it may surprise you. Some JFBConnect features like posting to your Facebook Page usually don't even need to go through the review process. For the features that do need review, what's the process and how do you proceed? Read our blog post to find out. https://lnkd.in/eKbiwbb
