User menu with external URL

In the user menu of my logout screen I use a menu that has an external URL type menu item in it. The problem I am seeing is that the URL is not coming out right if I select it from SClogin, but if I use the same menu item in a different module all is fine. SClogin is adding the menu item ID to the end of the URL like this: [my url]&itemid=228) which leads to a 404 error. This is quite unexpected behaviour.

I'll try it asap and report back.
