feel free to login on the user-side/public-side of the website "www.access2day.co.uk" under the following username and password -

Username: ben
Password: new42day

I have changed SEF and rewrite urls in both joomla plugs and configuration, and also made sure configuration.php was updated with right site address.... but still the following error appears.

(BTW the above account doesnt have admin access to it incase you need to check anyting let me know..)

If you try and login on the public site, the redirect comes up with an error 404:
______________
Error 404
(Component not found)

Please try one of the following pages:
Home Page
______________

and on logout the error is

Error 500
(Error loading component: , 1)

Please try one of the following pages:
Home Page

______________

any ideas??? Steve

Steve,
I really am not sure what's going on there. When I use those credentials, I'm seeing similar errors that you're seeing, though it's different on each page. For instance, if I try to login on:
www.access2day.co.uk/index.php/restmenu
I'm redirected to:
www.access2day.co.uk/index.php/component/jreviews/?Itemid=1

In all cases, the redirect has the Itemid set to 1, which is strange since that's not the Itemid for all of your pages.

Also, I'm not actually being logged in with the credentials that you sent. I'm not seeing an error about a bad username/password, so I'm not sure if I'm entering things wrong, or there's a bug where logging in isn't working at all.

Can you disable SEF URLs (temporarily) and see if the redirection starts to work then? Not sure what else to try without starting to narrow down where the problem is, and eliminating (or determining it's caused by) the SEF URLs will help figure out how to proceed.

Thanks,
Alex
