I'd like to ask if "Force Password Change" plugin works also in joomla backend ?
I tried several times with creating new accounts, resetting their lastvisitDate value to 0000-00-00 00:00:00 but this plugin doesn't want to launch after logging into backend, while it is working fine in frontend.
I have been searching but did not find any info, so could you shred some light on this matter ?

Might this be a problem with another plugins, that have to be uninstalled instead of only disabling them temporarily ?

ps. J! version I use: 2.5.14

Matt,
No, the forcepasswordchange plugin does not work in the admin area for users that are logging in that way. The plugin only works on the front-end because that's where the overwhelming number of users should be logging in and passwords there are (generally) less secure.

Additionally, the admin area doesn't have a great way to let a user to reset their password in all cases. For instance, a user without permission to access the User Manager, but can still access the admin area, wouldn't ever be able to change their password (unless the went to the front-end, which would be very confusing).

I hope that answers your question,
Alex

Great answer !
It covers whole matterI asked, although it's a real pity that new (editor/manager) accounts can't be forced to change passwords in backend.
But there's always a way. Routing the user after logging in frontend to a hidden administration panel should be a sufficient method.

Matt,
Thanks for the feedback. I hope you do find something that works for you, and if you end up modifying our code, please feel free to share it back with us and we'll include it in a new release. We don't plan on implementing the feature you're asking for right now though as it's not something that seems widely sought after.

Thanks,
Alex
