Hi,

Just installed the plugin ok however am having an issue:

I create a new user, when they first login, a screen titled Edit Your Details is shown - this displays the username, name and email address.

If i close that window then login again with the new user, it then directs me to the change your password page.

How do I avoid that first screen appearing / why does it appear?

Thanks,

Are you using any other third party extensions, such as Community Builder or JomSocial, that may also manage the user's password? The reason I ask is because in Joomla 1.5, there is no specific change password page, just the my details page where the user can change their password.

Hi,

No such plugins that control user passwords are on my site, e.g. Community Builder or JomSocial.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Hi:
How this can be used with JomSocial? Also, it is compatible with JFB Connect?

TIA

SAE,
Sorry for the delayed response, the holidays slowed down our response time for the non-commercial extensions. The purpose of the Force Password Change is to send the user to the Edit Details page when they first try to login to the site. It sounds like that's operating properly. I'm not sure what page you actually mean the user is being sent to the 2nd time when you say "it then directs me to the change your password page. "

That sounds like a different extension other than core Joomla, which is why Melissa was asking if you're using something else. If you're still having this issue, can you post the URLs (doesn't need to include domain) of the 2 pages your seeing? It sounds like one of those pages should be:
index.php?option=com_user&view=user&layout=form
That page is what the Force Password Change plugin should redirect the user too. Please let us know if that's one of the two pages you're seeing, and what the second page is as well.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

Ok i had a look at the page being displayed and I can confirm the following is shown:

MYDOMAIN.COM/index.php?option=com_user&view=user&layout=form

So what happens is the first time it loads only the Name and Email Edit Your Details fields are shown.
If I then reset my browser (i.e. remove cookies and history) then login again it brings the same URL as above however shows all fields including password.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
