jQuery conflicts with JLinked

jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi,

I had to uninstall the component for two main reasons.
1. There is no option to configure it not to load jQuery (I don't know if it also loads Bootstrap).
2. There should be an option not to load Linkedin javascripts. I am also using other extensions that load it and it creates conflict.

The first option is available in JFBConnect and it really helped. Any ideas when you will sync JLinked as well?

Thanks in advance.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

JLinked doesn't use jQuery at all, so that's why there's no option. It uses Mootools and will continue to do so until we integrate it's features into JFBConnect.

As for loading the LinkedIn Javascript, that's a requirement for JLinked as the Javascript has to be initialized in a specific way that allows for authentication and some of the other social features we use. If your other modules are just including the in.js file without the proper initialization, that isn't enough to do what JLinked requires. However, the load that JLinked does should work for other extensions.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Any ideas when you will make the integration?
I have major problems with two other extensions. They don't work when JLinked is installed.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

The stated roadmap is to have LinkedIn integrated in December with Twitter coming before that in October. Both those times could slip back a month, but it's too early to say. It certainly won't be before then.

We are still supporting and developing JLinked though, so if you're running into issues, let me know what they are. The things you mentioned above don't really seem to be related to JLinked (jQuery) or things we can change (the LinkedIn library). We'll gladly help investigate any issues you're having though.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi Alex,

I am having issues with http://itprism.com/free-joomla-extensio … ulti-share
It's a content plugin that allows you to have social share buttons to all pages, including VM.
When Linkedin is installed, the ITPShare Linkedin button is not displayed.
Test URL: http://www.allmassage.gr/en/massage/china/head-tuina

Please advice.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

JLinked is including the LinkedIn Javascript library and initializing it with an App Id. That's required for many of our features. The module you reference is likely re-including that library and LinkedIn doesn't like that and not showing anything.

You'd need to disable the in.js inclusion in the other module that you're using.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

It doesn't have the option.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Then you'd need to look into their code, or contact their developer, to understand how to disable the Javascript inclusion of that file. We don't have an option to disable the LinkedIn Javascript because, if you did that, multiple LinkedIn features that we implement would no longer work, not just the Share button.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply.
You do have this option though for JFBConnect and it has helped with a lot of issues.
Maybe it's a good idea to add it to JLinked as well. current/smile

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi Alex,

My apologies. There is an option and I switched it off. I have also found the code and commented it out.
However nothing seems to be working. Could you please check it out? URL: http://www.allmassage.gr/en/massage/china/head-tuina

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi,

I found another problem with the styling of JLinked button at the JFCLogin, when the user is logged in.  Please check the attached picture.
Thanks in advance.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

For the Share button, the LinkedIn Javascript is being included with the following line:

Code:

<script type="text/rocketscript" data-rocketsrc="//platform.linkedin.com/in.js?async=true"></script>

I'd try disabling the CloudFlare RocketScript feature and see if that makes things work. I know that alters and re-orders where the Javascript loads, and that may be preventing the loading of that script properly. That's just a guess because I don't see anything else wrong on that page with the LI Share button.

For the Reconnect buttons, those do look pretty bad. Can you try switching the "Button Type" in the SCLogin module to "Icon" or "Icon + Text" to see if those buttons look better there? Those may not be the buttons you want for the login view, but it may help provide something 'now'. If so, we can help you setup the Javascript buttons for Login and icon or icon+text buttons for the reconnect feature.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi Alex,

Disabling the CloudFlare RocketScript had no effect, except that my web page was loading slower. The Rocket Script loads the js asynchronous, so the page will load faster.
I also have a problem with Linkedin, with the social tabs module I have at the top / left of every page, the one with the multiple social networks' tabs. Linkedin tab was working fine, until I installed JLinked.

About the Button Type, I tried Icon with text. Although they are now styled correctly, those buttons are:
1. Much taller, causing my page to be even longer.
2. They have a problem with the black background at the corners.
3. It does not seem to be working in English.

I am attaching three screen caps:
Connected in Greek
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/6413/Connected-el.jpg

Connected in English
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/6413/Connected-en.jpg

Disconnected in Greek
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/6413/Disconnected-el.jpg

Please advice.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Sorry for the delay. For the LinkedIn Share button, I'm not sure what's happening there. I understand that Cloudflare may be helping, but it's making it difficult to diagnose the problem. Usually, Cloudflare allows testing with direct.domain.com, but on your site, that isn't working. Can you enable that feature so we can test with Cloudflare disabled? Right now, the LinkedIn Javascript is not being setup how it should, and the only reason I can guess is because of Cloudflare.

I also have a problem with Linkedin, with the social tabs module I have at the top / left of every page, the one with the multiple social networks' tabs. Linkedin tab was working fine, until I installed JLinked.

This issue is likely related to the Javascript file above not being loaded properly. Once we fix one, the other should fix as well.

Finally, for the buttons, you mention a few things you're not happy with, but I'm not sure what you want to accomplish. I also looked at your page and the Javascript button types seem to be aligned correctly now and look good. If that's not what you're looking for, let me know. We can help guide you in replacing the image buttons we use by default if you have alternatives. We just need to understand what you're looking for.

Thanks,
Alex

I can deactivate Cloudflare for you to test. However I need a precise schedule from you, when you want me to disable it and until when. I cannot afford to have it inactive for days, since it's bad for my site's SEO.

I have two issues here:
1. Please compare the image file Connected_en with Connected_el. It seems fine when I am connected and switched in to Greek, however when I switch the language in to English, the formatting of the social connect buttons is getting messed up again. Do you see how bad Connected_en looks?
2. The social connect buttons appear to have been cut from a white background and so they have some white pixels remaining at their corners and it does not look good with my black background. Please check the logout button right above them to see how smooth its corners look versus the social connect buttons' corners. Please note that google+ social connect button looks great though. You should work on /media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_facebook.png and /modules/mod_sclogin/images/button_linkedin.png as opposed to /media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_google.png, which looks fine.

Looking forward to your reply.

This is why CloudFlare has the direct.yourdomain.com URL setup by default. That should let you bypass CloudFlare without having to disable it for your normal traffic. If you can look into why that's not working, that would be an easy black/white test to see if that's the problem.

If not, we'll be able to dive into this tomorrow and investigate further.

I see how bad it looks in your image, but I haven't been able to test. I tried to click the Register button, but could not create an account. The registration form fails with the "State" field highlighted, although there are no options for me to select from in that drop-down. Without being able to login with a test Joomla account, I can't see what the 'reconnect' buttons look like. Let me know when that's fixed, and I'll gladly try again.

You're correct. It seems like some of our buttons were not exported properly with transparency on the edges. This will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks,
Alex

I really don't know about this. So far Cloudflare has suggested to deactivate in order to test. I need to investigate this method.

This is VM Registration. You need to select the country first, in order for the state list to be populated. Try to select USA, or Greece.
Edit: I found out what the problem was, with the styling. I am using Falang for the translation and it seems the English translation (my default language is Greek), was still using the old format. I deleted and recreated the translation and that fixed the problem.

Glad to hear you will fix it. Also, Google+ button is different than the rest of the buttons. It's somewhat flat, while the others use a 3D bevel effect. I suggest to keep only one style for all.

Thanks in advance.

The article below describes their 'direct' subdomain that is added to all accounts:
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us … n-working-
More information is also here in the "Keep all subdomains on CloudFlare" section.

I'm not sure why it's not working, but I'd check that you have that subdomain or another one with the cloud icon greyed out that can be tested with.

This is VM Registration. You need to select the country first, in order for the state list to be populated. Try to select USA, or Greece.

Still not working for me. See the image below. There are no state selection options to choose from:
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/64/7of9-VMRegistration.png

Also, Google+ button is different than the rest of the buttons. It's somewhat flat, while the others use a 3D bevel effect.

Agreed they should be standard. I don't think it should look like what you see. My guess is that there's a style in your template that's adding that transition/3D effect to it. Once we can register, we'll gladly investigate what it could be.

Thanks,

I just fixed direct.allmassage.gr and traffic is rerouted directly to my server, bypassing cloudflare. However problem remains, you can use it to track the problem.

This is very strange check out my image: http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/6413/states.jpg
Anyway, I have created a new shopper / user. user id and password is you forum handle. Please change your password when you first connect.

I don't think it's my template that styles the button like this, since they are all images. Check this out:
Facebook image (Path is set to your component media): http://direct.allmassage.gr/media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_facebook.png URL: http://direct.allmassage.gr/media/sourc … cebook.png
Google+ image (Path is set to your component media): http://direct.allmassage.gr/media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_google.png URL: http://direct.allmassage.gr/media/sourc … google.png

As you can see, facebook image is clearly 3D beveled without any styling.

Thanks in advance.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

I got a little sidetracked on the original issue of the LinkedIn Share button not showing. For me, I'm not seeing any buttons showing, just a "Tweet" link (but not a real image). All the other buttons are missing. When I use the 'direct' link, bypassing Cloudflare, all the buttons are showing (except for LinkedIn). While Cloudflare isn't causing the LinkedIn issue, the Rocketscript stuff (or some other optimization) does seem to be causing some problems. Some images are below.
Missing (using www):
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/64/7of9-SocialButtons-Missing.png
Working (using direct):
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/64/7of9-SocialButtons-Working-Direct.png

As for what may be causing the LinkedIn share button to be missing when you enable LinkedIn, when I load the 'direct' page, the following is shown in the Javascript console:

Code:

Uncaught Error: You must specify a valid JavaScript API Domain as part of this key's configuration.

Please check your LinkedIn App settings and make sure you have set a Javascript API domain. More information in our LinkedIn app creation guide.

Finally, thanks for creating me an account. I was able to login, but couldn't see the incorrect 'connect' buttons. What I see is below, which looks the same as the /el/ site:
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/64/7of9-ConnectButtons.png
Let me know if there's some other way I should be testing or if you're still having issues.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Please check your LinkedIn App settings and make sure you have set a Javascript API domain.

The functionality of this button (Content - ITPShare plugin) is to allow the visitor share the page on their status at Linkedin and that's why there is no such parameter in this plugin. So I really do not understand the purpose of the API here. Maybe they load a different Linkedin js after all, or part of it is common and part of it is different. Do Linkedin provides with two different js, one for API and one for share purpose? And if yes, are they in conflict?

Finally, thanks for creating me an account. I was able to login, but couldn't see the incorrect 'connect' buttons. What I see is below, which looks the same as the /el/ site:

I had already replied at message #37565 about this:
"Edit: I found out what the problem was, with the styling. I am using Falang for the translation and it seems the English translation (my default language is Greek), was still using the old format. I deleted and recreated the translation and that fixed the problem."
Obviously, I should have made it bold or something, because it was not too visible and you missed it. current/smile

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

The LinkedIn Javascript that JLinked and the other module are loading are the same. However, JLinked has to initialize the Javascript with your API key to enable some additional features for LinkedIn authentication. That API key is then used to check your configuration, and if you don't have your app setup correct, you'll get the results you see. So, if you want additional LinkedIn integration which JLinked provides, you just need to set that Javascript Domain setting.

As for the buttons, glad you got them going!

Hopefully this will get you all fixed up, but should you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

Hi Alex,

I have set up my API months ago, when I set up JLinked and I use it for JLinked component.
However, as I told you before, the social share plugin has no parameters to use Linkedin API.

Please advice.

Re: jQuery conflicts with JLinked

However, as I told you before, the social share plugin has no parameters to use Linkedin API.

It doesn't matter what the share plugin you're using has for settings. Since you're loading the LinkedIn Javascript through JLinked which is including an API key, any calls to load the LinkedIn social widgets, like the share button, must have the App setup properly. Check your Javascript API domain in your application settings and make sure it's correct or else the share button will not work.

If that still doesn't work, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
