Tags Not Appearing.

Tags Not Appearing.

Hello Alex..

I have inserted the tags for jobs or share etc in my custom HTML module..But its not displaying anything there..I tried putting the share tag..Nothing is displaying there which clearly displays the share  in modules..

Also whether we have to add the jobs or it will import it from the Linked In profile. If imports from Linked In , what are the parameters we have to provide in a modules(If I want to display in widget)..

Note: I am integrating JLinked with JomSocial.

Please Reply,
Thanks

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Prasanna,
I'm not sure why the tags aren't displaying properly for you. To diagnose, we'd need to see the actual page to understand what may be set wrong.

Also whether we have to add the jobs or it will import it from the Linked In profile. If imports from Linked In , what are the parameters we have to provide in a modules(If I want to display in widget)..

Can you explain more about what you're trying to do here. I'm not quite getting what you want to accomplish.

Finally, please post from the account you subscribed to JLinked from. Priority support is for active subscribers only.

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Prasanna,
Thanks for the image. I'm not exactly sure why it wouldn't be showing. Can you post, or Private Message, a URL for where we can see the problem on your site? That will help us narrow down why they aren't showing properly.

Finally, please post from the account you subscribed to JLinked on. You must have an active subscription to obtain priority support.

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

You can private message us by using the email icon under my name.

The only recommendation I can provide right now is to ensure your Javascript URL in your LinkedIn application is setup correctly. With incorrect settings, that can prevent some of the social widgets from working. Beyond that, we'd need to see the page.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Prasanna,
Thanks for PM'ing me details about your site. The issue is that the CDN extension you're using is incorrectly making the loading of the LinkedIn Javascript file into a CDN link. In your site's HTML is the following link:

Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.<YOURSITE>.com/platform.linkedin.com/in.js?async=true"></script>

That should be:

Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="//platform.linkedin.com/in.js?async=true"></script>

You'll need to fix whatever CDN plugin you're using to not alter that link or contact the developers to let them know that they should not be altering "schemeless links" (ones that start with //).

I hope that helps,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

It's definitely the first step. Whatever is altering that link is definitely causing a problem since the LinkedIn Javascript library isn't being loaded. You shouldn't need to disable it, as the plugin shouldn't be altering that link in the first place. I'd really recommend contacting the developer to let them know that they are modifying links that they shouldn't be.

However you can stop that plugin from altering those links though, please do, and test again.

Best of luck,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Hello Alex..

I tried doing it in the local server, I disabled CDN plugin in the plugin manager and checked..Its not working.
Also I tried by editing that <Script> tag to make it
                   <script type="text/javascript" src="//platform.linkedin.com/in.js?async=true"></script>
from the Mozilla browser firebug,..
But it din't take the effect of it..Also I inserted that <script ....> in the template -> index.php manually..But Result is
same..Not Working. Are you referring developer means to CDN developers...Can you please check this out..

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

If you're not trying on the site that you configured the LinkedIn application for, the tags likely won't work. You'll need to make sure you add your localhost domain to the LinkedIn application. You can check if there are any errors in the Javascript console that are coming from LinkedIn which may also help diagnose the problem.

As for the other things you tried:
* Changing the script tag in Firefox won't work. That doesn't cause the browser to re-load that script, and we also do some initialization at page load that's required. The script needs to be loaded immediately, not after the page has rendered.
* Adding the script to your index.php file should work if it's in the head section. However, check the domain in your settings and error console for more information.

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Hi Alex,

                      I will try that..
I want to know how to remove the JLinked login button that appears when we have given the wrong user/password in Joomla Login(That comes after configuring JLinked with Joomla)..Actually I want to add the same button after the Joomla Login button as shown in Attachment.I have added it and its working fine.. So now in my page it appears twice.(One custom button inserted by me and the other is inserted by JLinked..)..I want to keep the Custom one and remove the button inserted by JLinked. In which code file
http://www.sourcecoast.com/images/agorapro/attachments/17051/2013-07-03-122242.png

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

In the Configuration area of JLinked, there is a setting for "Integrate into Joomla Login:". Disable that and it will remove the automatically added button.

I hope that helps,
Alex

The only way that auto-login occurs is if the user has already authenticated your website through LinkedIn and approved your application. It cannot automatically login a user who hasn't already approved your app.

If you're testing and deleting accounts on the site, you'll also need to delete the application from the user profile that you're testing with. To do so, go into the LinkedIn user's profile -> Privacy & Settings -> Groups, Companies & Applications -> View Applications and then delete the application/web site that you approved. That will prevent the automatic login from occurring.

I hope that explains,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Hello Alex,

Thats working fine..Thanks a lot.. But the new problem is when we register after providing Linked In user details, and once you fill the details and click Register button, your account will be created at the backend, but it will not give any registration success message..Instead again it shows the same registration form with Linked In username.. I think thats understandable,,

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Is this happening on your local system, or is this on the live site? Can we test this or can you provide a picture of the page you mention with the same registration form? Are the details filled out, or does it look like you can submit the page again?

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Hello Alex,

                         Sorry for late reply..
The problem is in live site..when we register using linked In (JLinked by source coast) its not showing any registration successful message, once you complete registration..It is directly redirecting to the site front page..So user will not get to know whether he/she got registered or not. Also not even sending mails for registering. But in administrator its showing the De active(waiting for admin approval) account which is a normal process.

*Some times its shows the successful message..

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Prasanna,
Is the home page what you have set as the redirection URL, or is something else doing that?

My only guesses as to why the message wouldn't appear are:
* You have a User or System plugin that is redirecting the user before we fully complete the registration process. That would prevent our message from being properly added to Joomla and/or our redirection from occuring
* Your template doesn't have the proper code to display the System Error/Notice messages.

I hope that helps get you started with some ideas, but let me know about the above and we can try to help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Please install the new JomSocial v5.0.1 Social Profiles plugin. That will fix the {actor} tag in the activity stream.

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

Sorry, we haven't rebuilt the JLinked install package with the new release yet. However, you can use the Joomla Installer Update Manager to find the update, download it and install it.

I hope that helps, but if you run into other issues, let us know. We can point you to where you can download it as well if necessary.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Tags Not Appearing.

The SourceCoast library and main component currently can't be updated through the update manager, so I can understand why you're getting some errors. I'm not sure why the JomSocial plugin isn't upgrading that way.

Either way, you can download the file from the link below for your version of Joomla:
http://www.sourcecoast.com/index.php?op … &id=15

Install that like normal and it should get you fixed up.

Thanks,
Alex
