I'm setting up JLinked for a client for HIS website. Can I create and set up his API config etc. in MY Linkedin Developer account? or do I have to create a Linkedin developer account for HIS Linkedin account. If so it means I have to log in as HIM to do this which is surely illegal? Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do? I've tried to forum this on Linkedin, but not sure when I'll get a response.

Dom,
Yes, you can create the API config for him. Once it's created, you can add him as a developer to the account as well, so that he would have access (in case you leave or something like that). That would allow both of you to change the application settings when necessary.

Thanks Alex.

I'm really struggling getting pretty much anything to display in an article.

* I've installed and published all the plugins and modules fine (all green ticked)
* Created the Linkedin developer application and entered the API and Secret key in JLinked Configuration (the only thing I have not entered in the developer app in Linkedin itself is the OAuth User Agreement info - these just appear to be re-direct urls.)
* Gone through your tutorial carefully for all the other settings.

The only thing I can get to display in an article is {JLinkedLogin} (and the basic twitter / google+1 / Facebook icons)

The client simply wants to display his Linkedin profile on a page in his joomla website. Can I ask you one question please. Which one of these urls is correct to display a member profile? {JLinkedMember} or {JLinkedContent}

For Member Profile, I think most of those will actually work. Our demo site page for member profile uses the following URL:
www.linkedin.com/in/alexandreae

If it's not showing at all, that may be an indication that LinkedIn is not liking your Application settings for the Javascript Domain. Check that it's correct for your site. Then, on the page you're testing on, check the Javascript Error Console to see if there are any messages about your LinkedIn Application.

If none of that helps, let us know a URL where we can test and see what's happening.

Excellent!! Problem solved. Very happy. All I had to do was add the web address in the 'JavaScript API Domains' box in the Linkedin App:)

One final question. In your example of JLinkedMember it says 'View profile'. Mine says 'Send Message'? How do I change mine also to 'View profile'?

Ideally I would want to put one on the about page that says 'View profile', and another on the Contact page to say 'Send message'.

Is the user's profile set to public? My only guess is that it's set to "Send Message" because there is no profile that's publicly visible. Beyond that, I'm not sure. I don't believe there is a parameter to set to change that value.

If still unsure, can you let me know a URL where we can see Member Profile in action so we can investigate more?
