My developer was trying to uninstall/reinstall JLinked and has somehow locked all superadmin out of the back end!!
Any idea how to get back in?

Can you login to the front-end? Does login work with any account (super admin or regular user)? My immediate guess would be that the dev disabled the Joomla - Authentication or Joomla - User plugins which would cause a lot of login issues. If so, you'd need to use PHPMySQL or something similar to set the published setting for those plugins manually.

Beyond that, there's no reason (that I can think of) that uninstalling JLinked would cause any problems like that. Was there anything else he was doing at the time? Do you get an error message when you try to login? Any more info on what happens may help explain what's causing the lockout.

Thanks,
Alex

On Ffox I'm logged in with JLinked - afraid to log out !

In Safari NO I can't login - it just refreshes the page - both front & admin back end.
No error message either front or back end, just a page refresh to blank log in form

Hmm, problem is that I don't know how to do that, and our dev appears to have vanished off the face of the planet for the past 4 days since it happened.
His 'task' when it happened was to sort a problem between JLinked & JomSocial:-
When users chose 'login to this site" option it would direct them to one of our custom JSocial fields only - bypassing the whole JSocial registration process.... at least that's what he was SUPPOSED to do!!! Now it looks like he's run away!!!

Any advice, guidance, assistance appreciated.

Stuart,
I'd recommend trying to login to the front-end with both a LinkedIn user and Joomla user in a different browser. If you can only get in with LinkedIn, that's an indication that the Joomla - User or Joomla - Authentication plugins have indeed been disabled. Unfortunately, JLinked doesn't allow you to login to the admin area.

If that's the case, you'll need to have MySQL access to your database so that you can force those plugins back to enabled. I really don't have any other suggestions on how to do that without that access.

Let me know how the test above goes as that will help narrow things down. You may need to contact your host to help get direct access to the database if your dev is really on hiatus (that sucks!).

Good luck,
Alex

Thanks Alex,
I tried loggin in with different browsers, & using jlinked/joomla - both the same refresh page, but NOT loggin...
when I tried with 'Login with Linked in" it takes me to url: packwebasia.com/?view=featured
But we're not logged in.

I've contacted my host & just waiting for the timezones to align - he's been pretty good in the past, so I'm hopeful.
In the event that this has any impact on JLinked, I'll let you know what he says.

Stuart,
So glad to hear you got it going. Glad to hear it wasn't JLinked as well, but the more important thing is that the issue is fixed.

Either way, I hope we helped, and hope that never happens again!

Best of luck,
Alex
