Again problems with importing data to Jomsocial

I have the next problem. After installing all only a few fields are imported from LinkedIn. First Name, Last Name. But not things like Current position, Avatar, etc.
I tried the demo site here on this website and everything works OK here.
These things happens in Firefox
When I try to register in Safari, with the correct login, LinkedIn give back that the address is not known
I am not a developer
Hope you can help
Fred

Fred,
You don't need to be a developer, that's what we're here for.

The avatar import is having issues for some users right now. We're preparing a release (due out later tonight or tomorrow) that will fix that as well as a few other issues. None of the fixes are for profile information import though.

It's good to know that the first name, last name, etc comes in. That tells us the link to LinkedIn is there and working. I wish our new demo site were finished (where you can access the admin area), so we could have you see all the settings we use. I'm not sure why the other fields wouldn't come in though if the 'basic' fields do.

Can you let me know what version of JLinked you're using, just to make sure it's the latest. Beyond that, if it's possible to get admin access to your site, that may help us see your config and determine where a problem is. Otherwise, you may just want to wait for the new version and see if that helps.. but again, I wouldn't pin hopes on that.

If you want to send admin credentials, you can Private Message them to me by clicking the arrow under my picture (<----) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the credentials. I just registered on the site and see some of the info coming in. We're running the new version of JLinked through automated testing right now and it should be out tomorrow (if all goes well). I'd like to see how the tests go, in case they find any issues, and then get it installed on your site to see if it clears up any of the problems. It should definitely fix the avatar issue.

I hope you don't mind waiting 1-2 days, but that's the best option as it will make sure you're using the latest code so we can debug easier from there if there continue to be problems. If you're in a critical rush to figure things out though, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex for your time.
Of course I don't mind waiting while you are fixing the problem but I do hope that it will work like the demo site. Be my guest using my website also for a test.
If I must do something please let me know
Kindest regards
Fred

Fred,
We just posted the new JLinked version. Can you please download and install to upgrade your current version. It should definitely fix the avatar issue. There's a bunch of other fixes as well, but again, I don't think they will fix the profile import issues.

I also wanted to point out an update for the Login / Register page. There's a new option for how to display that form either horizontally (the current way), vertically (with the login area on top of the registration area), or even a way to disable the login form altogether.

It should make things look a little better overall, and just wanted to point it out!

Keep us posted on your results!
Alex

Is there any chance that the import issues will be solved. Appently it does work on your demowebsite. I tried that first before buying. What is different now?
The idea of the product is OK.

The avatar issue should definitely be fixed. There were some minor changes to how we do some of the profile import, but honestly, we aren't sure what's causing the issue on your site. So, we'd love it if you'd install the new version and test. The fact that some information comes in, but not all, is extremely strange and not something we've heard of.

If profile import doesn't work with this new release, we'll definitely get into your site and do some debugging with the code to understand why your installation is behaving different than all other users. We do a lot of testing and have a lot of users. Somehow, your site is the only one behaving this way, which makes it very difficult to immediately diagnose.

As always, we do have a 30-day money back guarantee. If you're unsatisfied, feel free to request a refund and we'll happily process it.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the reply,
As you have an administrator role, you can have a look yourself in the debug mode. I don't understand that
So please be my guest.

Fred,
Thanks for all the access to your site. We can definitely repeat the problem on your site and are trying to recreate it on one of our development sites. Basically, if we set the Current Position fields in JomSocial to be required and show during registration and then, in JLinked, have it show the fields during registration, the values will be properly pulled in.

That means, there may be a bug with JLinked when importing fields that aren't visible. We test a lot with that configuration, but it's possible there's some mix of settings that's causing the problem.

We'll let you know what we find, and hopefully should have a solution over the next few days. As a reminder, we have a 30-day money back guarantee, and you're not very far into your subscription. Should you ever choose to get a refund, we'd completely understand, just let us know! Hopefully, we'll get you fixed up very soon though.

Thanks,
Alex
