Topic-icon Jlinked doesn't port LinkedIn member's contact information

First of all i would like to thank you for assisting me in my previous problems. Everything works fine now.

I just have one problem right now with acquiring the contact details of the members that log in in my website. When i go to User map i find the profiles but apparently their contact information are missing. It is highly important for our organization to acquire telephone numbers, emails and also current positions from profiles in LinkedIn. How can we do that?

Thanks in advance

When i go to User map i find the profiles but apparently their contact information are missing.

I'm a little confused what's not working here. When you say "their contact information are missing", are you saying that the Profiles area of JLinked is configured properly, but the information isn't being imported correctly? Or, is there a setting missing in the Profiles area (either from the extension you're importing into or a field from LinkedIn that you want to get)?

All the information you mentioned above, I believe, is accessible, so we just need to figure out how you want to get it and what's wrong right now.

Thanks,
Alex

Im not sure if the profiles area of JLinked is configured correctly but, when i go in the User Maps area, i see the imported profiles from Linked in, yeah? But the only data i see is their Name and e-mail. When i click on the user profile button on the right, the fields are all empty. That's what i meant on my previous post. And, again, its very important for our company to obtain personal data like telephone numbers and stuff. Is that clear?

Thank you:)

I understand. JLinked itself doesn't store the user's profile data. We rely on other extension, like JomSocial, K2, Kunena, Community Builder, or some others, to store that data as they have proper profile management features. Please go to the Plugin Manager and enable any Social Profile plugins (in the socialprofiles group) that you may want to use to store profile data. Then, in the Profiles configuration area of JLinked you can configure what data is stored from LinkedIn into those extensions.

I hope that helps, but if not, let me know. We also have a "Custom Database" plugin in development that would let you store data to your own database table if you'd like to use that.

Thanks,
Alex

Ok. So to be exact im using the K2 social plug-in for my content. I go the profiles area and you can see in the picture below how it is configured.
The thing is that i have 3 options to select from: gender, description and url. The menu under the selections, though, contains a lot of personal data selections.
So i will randomly select telephone number, country, company for example? Does it matter if it says " Gender : Phone number 0 summary"?
Thank you.

K2 has only a limited amount of fields for a user's Bio. We simply show those fields to you in the Profiles area. You can import whatever data you want into the Description and URL fields. The Gender field (I think) pretty much has to have the gender setting as it's a on/off setting in K2 (not a free-form text field).

So, you can import data however you want into those other fields and you (the admin) can just know that a user's URL is actually their last job, or something like that.

I hope that helps explain, but if not, let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

I want to ask something not related to this. Is it possible to have an auto log-in function with Jlinked? Everytime i leave the website or after a few minutes it logs me out

Paulos,
There's no auto-login ability with JLinked. It's something that may be possible, and we have plans to investigate, but it's tricky due to a lot of restrictions and the way LinkedIn's API works in general.

As for being logged out automatically, that's completely controlled by the "Session Lifetime" setting in the Joomla -> Global Configuration area. The number set there (in minutes) is the amount of time it takes of inactivity for a user to be logged out. The default for Joomla is 15, which is pretty quick. We use 90 minutes on this site, and it works well for us.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex
