Well that's not right, obviously.

Can you check that you are running the 1.0.6 version of the SourceCoast Library? You can check that on the JLinked Admin page. If you installed JLinked and then installed JFBConnect, the library may have downgraded as there were changes in the new release of JLinked that weren't in the last release of JFBConnect. If it's out of date, simply re-install JLinked and that should fix it.

If that's not the problem, let us know and we can investigate other possible causes.. but not really sure what could be causing that otherwise.

Sorry for the troubles!
Alex

Hmm.. That's definitely strange about the username. What is the setting you are using, just hide? What is the auto-username creation value set for as well? Also, in the JLinked Administrator page, can you verify that all the versions are up-to-date and correct?

As for the Facebook button showing when it shouldn't, is that on the Login / Register page that a user goes to after clicking the Login with LinkedIN button? If so, that's the correct behavior. We don't actually have an option to hide that button on that page. If JFBConnect is installed, we show the button. Did you possibly create a template override for that page which could be causing some issues? If so, it may also be the cause of the username problem above too. If you have a template override, I'd recommend trying to rename that file, temporarily, to see if things work right. If that fixes it, you'll need to integrate the changes from our latest release into your override.

Hope that helps, but if not, just let us know and we can investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Ahh.. gotcha. The problem is that LinkedIn rolled out the cool new feature where you can fetch the email address.. but it's only (currently) available to newly created LinkedIn applications. We already have a thread where we're pestering them to allow older apps to migrate to the new apps in the post below:
developer.linkedin.com/forum/when-will-o...nabled#comment-17868
Feel free to leave a comment expressing your desire to get the email address using an older app. It's, unfortunately, not possible to create a new App and simply swap out the keys for a few technical reasons.

So, with that said, since the email can't be imported using an old app, we still have to show the username and email fields. You can switch the username creation to something else, which should hide that field (or use the code change we provided before). We're hopefull that LinkedIn will provide some guidance soon...

Thanks,
Alex

With a new app, your login dialog for LinkedIn should look like the image in the post on the page below:
developer.linkedin.com/blog

JLinked will automatically request the email permission of the user. We may also ask for other permissions depending on if you have profile plugins enabled to import extended information.

Let me know if you're seeing the new dialog box or not. New apps created within the last 2 weeks or so *should* see the new login dialog. Once you get the new keys, make sure you update JLinked with them. We'd also recommend clearing your Joomla (and even browser) cache to ensure the new keys are used. That should be all that's required though.

Hope that helps,
Alex
