Things were going so well...

But the "register" button on this link has gone dead. Click it and no action.

When attempting to register using the"Login with LinkedIN" button, you redirect through the "allow this app" LinkedIN page to here:

disruptivate.biz/component/jlinked/?view...urn=L2NvbW11bml0eQ==

To test/reproduce the error, start here:
disruptivate.biz/community

And use the "Login with LinkedIN" button. You'll redirect to the page with all the field questions etc, and when you hit "Register" at the bottom, nothing happens.

There is no email triggered, no users created in either the Joomla or JomSocial table(s).

I've tried with three different linkedin accounts on IE, Safari, FF, and Chrome on both Mac and PC... no action on that button.

Only change I can think of is the updating of the library to 1.0.4, but that was after the problem started.

Earlier in the day, I had problems sending registration confirmation email through PHP mail and was getting an error there, but that's fixed now.

UPDATE: Logging in with LinkedIN with a pre-existing account still works.

Please prioritize this post to any of my others!

When I try to register, I'm brought to a 500 error page that shows:
500 - DateTime::__construct() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given
There's not much more information about where that problem is coming from. If you're seeing the same error though, please set Error Reporting to "Maximum" in the Global Configuration area of Joomla. That will hopefully give a much more descript error as well as localizing what piece of code is throwing the problem.

The error can be caused by many things during the registration process, either user plugins, system plugins, or many other things.

Let us know if that helps narrow things down and what you find,
Alex

Not sure why, but when the Birthdate field is shown on the registration page it's throwing an error. We'll have to look into it more, but for now, I've disabled the "Registration" setting for the DOB field. It should still be imported (if available), just not shown.

Sorry for the trouble, and let us know how that goes. Also, feel free to disable the account you created for us.

Thanks,
Alex

I was not able to re-create the solution that you outlined above- i.e. I turned the birthday field back to "registration" and registration failed, and then I turned it back off and it still failed.

I did set the birthday import to "none" in JLinked, and registration worked then.

I assume you'll figure out that bug and fix it in a future release, and birthdays aren't really mission-critical anyway. So "fixed" for now.

We've noted this as an issue to look into. We're hoping to get a bug-fix release for JLinked out next week (possibly the week after) and if we can easily recreate this on our end, we should be able to get it in that release.

Thanks for your understanding and information on what works for you.

Just checking back in for this issue - Which versions of JomSocial, Joomla and JLinked are you using? I am trying to reproduce this with JomSocial 2.6.0, Joomla 2.5.6 and JLinked 1.2.2. I was able to succesfully import the Date of Birth from LinkedIn into both a text field and a birthdate field in JomSocial with no problems.

That original post was over a month ago, and we've had other battles with hackers that necessitated removing Jomsocial and rebuilding the site. I haven't reinstalled Jomsocial since, but will in coming weeks. Hopefully the bug we found was fixed in the July 30 release.

Sorry to hear that; I hope your site is back up running smoothly again. Please let us know if you encounter the JS issue again and we can look into it further then.
