Thanks - I missed the 'offer' to buy FBconnect at the same time as JLinked (dumb of me I know).

Ok, I'll wait for the upgrade anyway. I reassigned another little 3-day job to my techie in the meantime. So I'll give the new version a shot later in the week.

The odd thing is that it seems to be appearing - or NOT - at random & I can't seem to figure out why or what the difference is (whether we're logged in with LinkedIn, or just via JomSocial)

Stuart,
Definitely check the URL of your site... specifically, if when it works, the page is 'www.site.com' vs 'site.com' (no www). That could be part of the problem, and it's easy to fix. If you would like us to look though, please post (or private message) the URL of the site.

As for JFBConnect, you still get a 10% discount if purchase it while you have an active subscription to JLinked (which you do). It's not the full combo discount, but it's something :)

Hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I downloaded the new version of Jlinked 1.2.1 and I still can't get the Linked In share button to show. I can enable the others. If I don't there is just a blank space. If I enable one of the buttons like the twitter button it will show up all by itself.

Thanks for you help.

Ahh Spike.. We're just causing you issues aren't we?

First, make sure you upgraded JFBConnect to v4.2.1 as well. Then, can you try re-ordering the JLinked System plugin so it's ordered before (lower number) than the JFBConnect System plugin? That *should* fix it for you. We're still working out some kinks with the shared libraries between JFBConnect and JLinked, obviously, but hopefully, this should fix you up with the new releases.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex, your customer support is by far the best. I appreciate your quick response.

I downloaded both JFBC 1.2.1 and JlinkIn 1.2.1. I have the System JFBC set to 1 and Jlinked in set to 0.

It still doesn't show up. Could you take a look? I'm sure it's something I'm overlooking.

Spike,
Very sorry for the delay. Feel free to pester me in public all you want, by the way.. you don't need to send a Private Message to bump up your support.

I just tested on your site, and the updated versions have done what we wanted them too. The LinkedIn Javascript library is being properly included on the page, whereas with the previous release, sometimes, the library was not included. If I look at the Javascript errors, I see the following message:
Uncaught Error: You must specify a valid JavaScript API Domain as part of this key's configuration.
Can you verify in your LinkedIn application that your Javascript API domain is set properly? You can set multiple domains, so we'd recommend the following settings for your site:
http://spikesantee.com/
http://www.spikesantee.com

Stuart,
Can you let me know your URL and we can investigate on your site as well?

It's always possible there is still some bug in our extensions, but I'm not seeing it now if there is... whereas it was obvious with the previous release.

Again, sorry for the delays, and we'd love to get this cleared up!

Stuart,
Just saw your PM with the URL for your site. Your issue is definitely what I mentioned above. When I visit your site without www, I get the following Javascript error:

Uncaught Error: JavaScript API Domain is restricted to www.pac****.com

If I go to your site using www in front, it actually works as expected right now.

Can you edit your LinkedIn Application and update your Javascript API Domain setting to the following, and that should get you going.
http://pac****.com
http://www.pac****.com

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the help. Here is a screen shot of my Linked In API screen. I think I have a valid JavaScrip API domain name. Can you double check for me?

File Attachment:

Here is a screen shot of the JLinked ap in my blog. All I can see is the Twitter button. I turned that on to see where the Jlined module would show up.

As always, Thanks for the support.

Dear Alex,
I'm getting somewhere! But I'm not there yet.
In the Linked In API, when I have spikesantee.com as one of the valid JavaScript urls, it won't work. If I take it out, then the Share button works. But only if I view my site using www.spikesantee.com, not spikesantee.com. So, I imagine I need to figure this out on my cPanel at my hosting company.
Any suggestions on where to look? Would this be something in my .htaccess file or my config.php file?
