Module with just the Facebook likes and Twitter followers numbers

FIrst thank you Alex for your extension in the Joomla community, it looks very attractive after the Joomla Magazine article I read. But I must say that in the "jungle" of Social networks' modules, I am a bit confused. And I already experience JS conflicts or slow downs, so it seems that your code is better. And hopefully we can make what we need with it.

I am sure with some CSS, it will be easy to achieve the same kind of layout. But how to retrieve only the likes and followers numbers, without having all the iframe and scripts that go with?

My concern is as well about the load time of the page, and the caching. Because it is in the header, it won't be nice if it takes more seconds to display. Do you think we can achieve that with a JFBConnect module or tag? And using the joomla cache system, so that the numbers are not reload at every requests?
