Hi,

I'll do my best to articulate this one. I have created a Facebook page for my website. When I am using Facebook as MyWebsite.com I have two streams that I can view:

1. In the upper right hand corner I can click "MyWebsite.com" and see my Profile stream which is essentially the list of posts that I have made as MyWebsite.com or posts that others have made on MyWebsite.com's Facebook wall. There are plenty of Joomla extensions for displaying this stream on a Joomla webpage.

2. The second stream that is available can be accessed by clicking "Home" in the upper right hand corner. This displays a stream of posts by all of the other Facebook entities that I have liked while using Facebook as MyWebsite.com.

I want to display this second stream on my Joomla website. Is there a way to do this? None of the other Joomla Facebook extensions seem to address this issue.

Thanks!

1968Rouleur,
That's not something that Facebook has an easy 'widget' for it like for the FanBox, Comment box, etc. JFBConnect would make it easier to get your like stream from your Page and display it, but it's not a feature that's in there natively.

To do so, you'd need a developer to do a bit of coding. On the page below, just a little ways down, you can see a bunch of links. Those are easy URLs which you could use to fetch the 'Likes' or other information from your own profile or Facebook Page. You could use JFBConnect to fetch the contents of any of those URLs, parse the data, save it to your database, and then display it to the screen in a module or other place. It would take a bit of work, but, again, is actually possible.

We would be able to give some pointers on how to do it, but you'd need a developer to do most of the work.. we'd just be a resource if they needed help.

Hope that makes sense at least, but if you have other questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex-

Thanks for your reply. This confirms what I already suspected. Too bad this doesn't exist. It would provide a very easy way to display news from across my industry.

By the way, aren't you a developer? Feel free to quote me a price on making this work...

Thanks!

Chris,
We are developers here, but we are focused on our extensions currently. We're not staffed to offer extra support services. It's something we're hoping to offer later this year as we grow our company, but right now, it's simply not an option for us.

Hope that makes sense, and thanks for your interest,
Alex
