We currently don't support logging into the admin area. It's something we've looked into before, but haven't implemented anything yet as it's infrequently asked, and we want to be very careful when doing so to make sure there are no security problems with it.

Sorry for the answer you weren't looking for,
Alex

There's a few options using JFBConnect to do that:
1) If the "User Creation" setting is configured to "Full Joomla User", on registration, the user will create their own Joomla username and password that they could then use to access the admin area (if they have the proper permissions).
2) If the "User Creation" setting is configured to "Facebook User Only", either you (the admin) could set a password for the user or the user could set their own password in the "User Details" page of the front end. Once set, they could then also login to the admin area.

In both cases, you should be able to disable normal Joomla registrations.

Hope that helps,
Alex

this was the first thing i've tryed. i was asking this question because i'm unable to do this. are you sure that it is possible? i can't write any password, the field is protected.

Evil,
Sorry for the delay. Was a holiday here in the states yesterday, and we didn't get to all the support threads we wanted too.

Your correct. Joomla grays the password boxes out when you use the Facebook User Only setting. That's because for 3rd party authentication schemes (which need no Joomla password), Joomla thinks that no password will ever be needed, which is a bit annoying.

For now, the only real options that I can recommend are:
1) Have any users that use Facebook login and need access to the admin area to do a "Reset Password" from the front end. This will email the user a token and let them create a new password.
2) Switch to "Full Joomla User" in JFBConnect which will let them create a password during registration (if they haven't registered already).

We'll look into creating a random password for Facebook Users Only in a future release. This will allow the admin (or user) to reset it, but we'll need to make sure we don't confuse users with new user registration emails that have passwords, usernames, and other things that they didn't create when registering.

Hope that helps,
Alex
