Hi,

This looks like a great product, in the midst of checking it out. Meanwhile, do you have an eta on the LinkedIn integration?

Thanks!

We'll be releasing a similar LinkedIn extension in October, if everything goes as planned. It will be a separate extension, as it's considerably different, but will have a combo subscription available for users with JFBConnect as well.

Hope that helps,
Alex

That sounds excellent, would be great to have both. Two questions about that then:

1. If I buy FB now, will I still be able to get the package deal later (i assume it will be discounted if you purchase both)
2. I want to figure out the account-creation flow so if we use both so if we use this we won't have to change later - right now you can configure JFB to log in directly with facebook, without having to change email address or user account info - will that still be possible if you have both LI and FB? Or will we need to enable the intermediate step of creating the account ("Email Field on Registration").

Thanks!

1) Yes, we'll have some way to make sure that our current Facebook user's can take advantage of any package deals we provide for users that get both. We love everyone who's helped us to get here, and be able to work on the next great extension. You won't be left in the cold :)
2) LinkedIn does not have any way to obtain the user's email address, so with the LinkedIn flow, the user will have to go through the mini-registration form. You'll still be able to use the automatic registration feature of JFBConnect, so the mini-reg form could/would be for just the LinkedIn users.
There will be multiple ways to 'connect' all the different accounts of Joomla, FB, and LinkedIn, so that, once connected, the user can login through any means to get back into the site.

Hope that helps explain,
Alex

October is still the plan.. though not tomorrow :) It's being worked on right now (literally), and we're currently still shooting to have it out this month. There's a lot that goes into a release, outside of just code (documentation, website product pages, etc).

Still planning a lot of stuff that goes on around getting a new 'big' extension out, which may end up delaying things, but excited to make it available when it's ready.

With that said, development's gone well so far, but with a 1.0 release of anything, even though we're able to leverage our experiences with JFBConnect, there's bound to be some rough edges and great feedback that we'll be looking for from our users.

Hope that answers your questions,
Alex
