Does the new jfbconnect release offer a new process to store email address other than prompting your via a facebook dialog box instead of a joomla based dialogue box to store your primary email. Something like what www.whrrl.com does?

Yes, it uses the new extended permission request for email to let the user provide access to their real FB email address. The user also has the option to choose a proxied email address from FB, if they'd prefer not to supply their real email address.
