I am building a site that is based on events. I am using JEvents to do that.

I was wondering:
- Can I use the features in Events ... much like you do it with the Joomla articles?
- I would love to send an event to the associated Facebook page as soon as the user adds the event. Is that possible that this could be achieved?
- I am using Mailchimp at the moment as my newsletter system. I would like to sign up users when they register to add an event. Is that possible?

Thank you

JFBConnect doesn't have built-in integration for either JEvents or Mailchimp. However, many of the features in JFBConnect still work with both of them in various ways.

- Can I use the features in Events ... much like you do it with the Joomla articles?

JFBConnect has a module to add social sharing to any page of your site, either floating on the side (like this site) or in any module position. Additionally, features like Open Graph Actions can be created to put an "I'm attending" or "I want to go to this" button on the page, which can push back to the user's Timeline. Open Graph Actions aren't currently tied into buttons that may already exist in JEvents, like "Attend" that can push that back to the user's Timeline. For that, we'd need to create an Open Graph Plugin for deeper integration into JEvents.

I would love to send an event to the associated Facebook page as soon as the user adds the event. Is that possible that this could be achieved?

The "Channels" feature of JFBConnect allows you to push the any URL from your site to your Facebook Page or Group, Twitter Stream or LinkedIn Company Page. You'll also be able to leave a comment for your post and JFBConnect will take care of the Open Graph tags and Twitter Card tags to make sure the preview/thumbnail appear properly.

Right now, we don't have an automated way to push this content though. It's a manual process to push the URL to any or all of those channels. We recommend that method as it gives you full control over the message and timing of the post.

- I am using Mailchimp at the moment as my newsletter system. I would like to sign up users when they register to add an event. Is that possible?

That'd be outside of JFBConnect altogether. We don't integrate with Mailchimp directly. We do call the standard Joomla User plugins, which can automatically register a new user to whichever newsletter you want. For integrating Mailchimp into JEvents specifically though, that's beyond anything we'd plan to do.

I hope that helps,
Alex
