Hi,

i have jfbc and noticed that its not uptodate. Then i checked into my backend on your site and noticed, that i have to pay the full price instead of the renewal fee?
Why?

Dennis,
We do provide an automatic 30% discount when you re-subscribe while your current subscription is still active. Once your subscription expires, you will need to re-subscribe again at the full price. When users keep their subscription up to date, it lowers our overall support costs, and we pass that savings along through the automatic discount.

Unfortunately, your subscription expired in early February, so you wouldn't be eligible for the discount. However, you've already saved about 30% by not renewing. Everyone makes their choice about how they want to save.. by getting the automatic discount and continuing to receive access to new releases, priority support and our Autotune tool.. or choosing to wait until new releases come out and re-subscribing then (if they feel they want the new features in the release).

If you do choose to re-subscribe, please make sure your email associated to your profile is up to date. We send out 3 emails about the discount for a few weeks before your subscription expires.. If you didn't receive those emails in January, it means your email is incorrect or our mail is being improperly sent to your spam box.

I hope that helps explain, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

to be honest, this kind of subscription modell is really unique. I dont know anybody else (i have several sites and a lot of plugins) who offer this kind of renewal discount system... in any way its user unfriendly.

If you dont want to give me a renewal discount its ok. I can also use the inbuildt easysocial fb bridge...
btw. for only a bridge the price is anyway to high for only 6 month support!

I'm sorry to hear you're not satisfied with our model. We try to make it very clear on our subscription page that the pricing is $60 and you're eligible for a 30% discount before renewal. As for the discount itself, we'll agree it's unique, and that's a good thing. Not everyone offers a discount on renewals. We do because, as mentioned, it lowers our support costs when users stay up to date all the time. We feel it's just right to pass some of that savings along to our users.

As for 6 months, that's the same subscription duration that EasySocial, JomSocial and just about every other extension out there uses, so I don't think we're too off base there.

The majority of JFBConnect users don't use it with EasySocial, JomSocial or any other profile extension. That we allow for profile import into EasySocial is a bonus, not the only feature we offer. That we do it so well that the developers at StackIdeas recommend using JFBConnect for social network integration is a testament to the quality and features of our software. We certainly aren't only a 'bridge'.

Of course, if you only want basic Facebook integration, EasySocial has you covered. If you want more registration flow options, customizable profile import options, the ability to register with 10 other social networks, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Yahoo, Google and more, JFBConnect is the best solution. Registration is only one of our many features. We also support posting content to your social channels (Facebook Pages, Twitter Streams, etc), showing those streams on your site, managing Open Graph tags, and a slew of other things.

Again, we hope to see you as a customer again. If not, we understand that each site values social network integration in their own way and if it's not critical for your site, or you don't need to be on the latest release of JFBConnect, that's absolutely fine. JFBConnect will continue working even when you're subscription isn't active. You simply lose access to support in our forums or use of our automatic configuration tool.

Thanks,
Alex

But if you compare your software with such a hughe software like easysocial, dont you think its a "bit" overpriced?
The value i get from your software is much lower as from easysocial, but the price is nearly the same!

Or compare with jreviews!! You buy the software and then you pay a fair support fee- also for a much extended software.
In my opinion, you price modell is maybe good for you- but unfair for your customers...

At this state i come to the conclusion that i dont renew this subscription...

We don't think it's overpriced. When integrated with 11 different networks, it can be a herculean effort to ensure that when each of them makes changes that we stay up to date. Similarly, we ensure compatibility with Joomla and each of the extensions we integrate with. That's in addition to the, on average, 4 major releases each year (we just had one yesterday). You also may not use all the features in JFBConnect, but that doesn't mean they are less important to other users that do take advantage of them.

As for the other extensions you mention, they are fine extensions. We feel our pricing, features and license model are comparable (if not better):
* JReviews - $179 - 1 year, 1 domain, separate addons for a fee.
* EasySocial - $99 - 6 months, 1 domain of support. There is a cheaper version with a link back, but I don't consider that
* JFBConnect - $60 - 6 months, comes with everything we offer, unlimited domains of support. $100 for 1 year of subscriptions w/ discount. The 2nd year, both subscriptions would be at the discount, for ~$80 / year.

Again, if you don't feel the features or support in JFBConnect are worth it, we don't want you to resubscribe. We would rather you be happy using an older version that works for you.

Thanks,
Alex
