Topic-icon Facebook redirects to blank box ???

Hi,

We're trying to get FFBconnect to work on our site,

Twitter is working fine but the facebook login just shows a blank window after login the first time and then from there the same blank window every time they click login

(I am assuming they would be logged in already so no need to confirm login details)

It seems to be some issue with the url that it is trying to redirect to.. the window is simply showing as "about:blank" so no page title,

We haven't set anything in our "Valid OAuth redirect URIs" but assumed this would not be required.

Also we do not have an ssl certificate on the site,

Any ideas why this is happening ?

Anybody else had similar issues ?

Any help you can give would be greatufully appreciated.

Please make sure you've followed every step of our Facebook Application Setup guide:

There are different settings required for each social network, which is why we have the guides to take you through the required steps.

Beyond that, SSL is not required on your site for Facebook authentication. Additionally, Facebook has made some substantials changes this year, which updated releases of JFBConnect have addressed. The latest version is 6.2.3, which has some fixes for changes Facebook implemented in early October which could be part of your problem. I'm not sure what version of JFBConnect you're running, but you can see the full changelog of the different versions to compare what you're using against the latest:

thanks for the fast response,

Ok i have now updated to latest version, but getting the following error when try to auto tune:

Unknown column 'extra_query' in 'field list' SQL=UPDATE `jbvndb_update_sites` SET `name`='JFBConnect Updates',`type`='extension',`location`='www.sourcecoast.com/updates/jfbconnect.x...3c1724d42578ef6ca0e1' WHERE `update_site_id`='12'

any ideas ?

That query should only run if you are on Joomla 3.2.2 or lower. What version of Joomla are you using? Joomla 3.3.6 is the latest, and we highly recommend something in the 3.3 line in general.

Beyond that, you may have had an upgrade issues with Joomla where a table wasn't upgraded properly. Can you go to the Joomla -> Installation Manager -> Database area and see if any errors are reported? If so, simply hit 'Fix' and it should get things going for you.
