Good Day,

I have Subscribed, Installed the Latest JFBConnect with all its Plugins, passed the AutoTune Test and all the initial Configurations done.
When I go to Profile I only see 3 Fields that I can Import from Facebook : First Name, Last Name and Middle Name.

Where to from here ?
From my Understanding I now have to set up the Fields in Com Builder to Map to have JFBConnect Map them to those fields?
The Documentation kind of stops at this point and I am not able to find answers....

Is there a list of Fields you can give me to set up in CB please and a little help as to what to call them etc ?

As always, documentation is an ever-evolving entity, so I've added an issue to our tracker to expand on available fields from each Social Network/configuration of profiles :)

Yes, the next step will be to go into the Community Builder > Field Manager section and add new fields there for each field you wish to import from Facebook. Which ones you add are really dependent on what profile information you'd like to gather from Facebook on your site. The currently available Facebook fields can be found listed at the top of the components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/profile/facebook.php (and likewise for other social networks).

The field types that JFBConnect currently supports for CB are text, textarea, editor textarea, date or webaddress. So add a new field with one of these types, set the name and title to something unique (title may be displayed to user, so something readable), and set the required/show at registration/published fields as desired.

After you add the field to CB, go back to the JFBConnect > Profiles area. You should see a longer list of CB fields now and can map them to the fields in the Facebook column.

Try that out and let me know if you have any further issues.

Thanks
-Melissa

Sorry I noticed the Avatar is pulled into CB by the : Import Avatar - Am I correct?

Then I would like to find out if it is impossible to pull in Mobile Number?

Lastly what about the email Field? - I see Community Builder has a required email field but I don't see this in the JFBConnect list to choose from - How would I be able to import that?

Yes, Import Avatar is the correct setting for the avatar image.

Unfortunately, Facebook doesn't allow access to the telephone numbers through the API.

There is a mapped field for email. It should be listed as 'Contact - Email' all the way at the bottom of the list of fields.

Hi Mel, thanx again for your reply.

I agree that CB has an email field mapped but I don't see it in JFBConnect :

I see. I read your statement wrong as you had created a new required field for email, but could not find it in the list of available Facebook fields to map.

When the user account is created, whatever the Joomla account's email is that's created will automatically be mapped to that CB required field. On registration, JFBConnect will automatically get the email field from Facebook and pre-populate the Joomla account email. So you shouldn't have to really do anything extra to get that value.

Thank you Mel!
Any Idea why I get this when I now Log in with Facebook : http://prntscr.com/4z03xj

"Some of the Permissions below have not been approved for use by Facebook"

Is there anything I can do to fix this ?

Facebook now requires that you submit your application for approval if you are requesting any permissions beyond the basic permissions (public_profile, user_friends, and email). If you're seeing this, then you have mapped some FB fields that require the extended permissions.

If you are trying to test and authenticate with the admin of the application, you should still be able to login and grant the permissions without seeing this message. However, the app needs to be approved before normal users' profile data can be fetched.

I hope this helps explain the issue.

Hi Mel,

I am also picking up several other issues

1) When I go to the app in FB I see the Following : prntscr.com/4z64xl
2) Although JFBConnect lets me into the site and allows me to post an ad, when I go to Users in CB, I don't have any users.
3) When I Click My Profile in the front-end of my site I see : prntscr.com/4z65mt

I am pretty sure the reason I got that first Facebook message in my earlier message has something to do with all this.
Please will you be so kind to give me some steps to fix all this ?

On Facebook it states on this Page : developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/#instructions
"List your instructions in a step-by-step format so that we can reproduce your action and additional properties."

So I will need to get this working on my site BEFORE I can submit for Review with Facebook.

I sent you a PM with the Login Details to my site
