When I try and select a user to create a channel, I get the "The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission." I have logged out and re-logged in to the front end and I don't have any prompts asking me to approve any permissions. Same thing when I login to Facebook.

T.J.

In the backend, in JFBConnect > UserMap, please verify that the user you are logging in with has a Joomla User mapped to a Facebook account. 1) If not, you will need to log in with the Joomla user, then click the connect with Facebook button. 2) If there is a mapping, make sure that when you are logging in on the front end, you are logging in with the Facebook button, and not the Joomla username/password in the form. Let us know if you still have issues after verifying this.

Thanks
-Melissa

I verified that the user is mapped to a facebook account and logged into the front in using the facebook button. I still get the same error and nothing comes up asking me to grant permissions.

I would then suggest logging onto facebook.com with that user. Go into your user's Settings > Apps area and remove your application from the list. Log into your site again from the front-end to reauthorize and we'll see if the permission request comes up this time.

I tried that and it didn't prompt me for any additional permissions besides access to my profile and email address. The facebook screens said "this does not allow the app to post content" or something to that order, so could it be an issue with the Facebook app?

If you resend your site credentials in a PM, we can log in and create a test channel to try to reproduce your issue.

I just tried setting up a test channel on your site and didn't get the manage_pages permission request either.

When you are logging in with Facebook, are you logging in with an administrator of your app? Also have you submitted your app for approval to Facebook? When requesting more than some basic permissions, your app needs to be reviewed by Facebook first (developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-lo...missions/v2.1#review). If you haven't had it reviewed, that would explain why I am not getting the prompt.

To follow up from your PM:

When you're logging in from the front-end, please check the following:
* You're logging in using Facebook
* The Facebook account you're logging in with is the same one linked to the Joomla user you selected in the Channels area
* The Facebook user is either a) an admin of the Facebook application or b) you have submitted your app for approval to Facebook to use the manage_pages permission
-- To let JFBConnect read or post to a Facebook Group or Page, we must get the user_groups (or manage_pages) permission from the user. The only way to request that permission is from admins of the app *or* if the user is not an admin, you must have let Facebook approve that permission to be requested of your users.

Here are some more tips that Alex suggests you try:

* In the JFBConnect -> Configuration -> Facebook area, in the "Additional requested permissions" box, add "manage_pages". That will request the permission from any users logging in through Facebook. Try logging in again to see if it's requested. If so, grant it and then remove the permission from the box to not ask it of other users.
* On Facebook.com, click the down-arrow in the top right and go to Settings. Then, click on Apps and click into the app you created for your site. Check if the user_groups permission is listed as something you've granted.
* If the permission has been granted, but JFBConnect still can't detect it, the next step would be to try and delete the Channel and recreate it. It's possible something got messed up in the database and hopefully recreating it will fix it.

Please let me know if these help.
