Hi,

your component inserts some og:meta tags. However you are overwriting my settings. One of my components sets the og:type tag to video, but this always gets removed from your side and is replaced with og:type=article.

Ist there any way to fix this?

Best Regards Michael

Are you using HWDVideoShare? We're planning an Open Graph plugin in November that should work with their extension, but we should be able to help you now as well.

Would it be possible to Private message me a link to a few pages where the tag is set incorrectly as well as Admin credentials for the site? We should be able to get something fixed up for you soon.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi, we are using our own, custom developed video component.

Here is a video:
www.filmering.at/videos/viewvideo/10989

And here the overview page:
www.filmering.at/videos/neuevideos

If possible, I would try to avoid providing the Admin credentials, because it violates our security policy. Maybe you can just hint me in the right direction so I can include the code by myself.

Thank you and best regards,
Michael

Michael,
If it's your custom component, the easiest thing would be to enable the Open Graph - Custom plugin. Then, create a new object in the "Open Graph" area of JFBConnect. Set the Type field to "video" and check the "Built-In Facebook Object" box.

Then, in the right hand side for Query Params, enter the non-SEF params for your custom component pages that should be videos, like:

option=com_mycustomcomp
view=video

That will make any video view pages have the proper tag. You can get more specific by adding more parameters, or assign type="video" to all option=com_mycustomcomp URLs by removing that view=video line.

I hope that makes sense. Once that's setup, you could create Open Graph Actions to automatically post a "I watched video xyz" in a user's Timeline as well.

Thanks,
Alex
