I understand that you're working with Stackideas to integrate their wonderful software with your wonderful software.

Can you give some idea of what benefits JFBConnect will be offering beyond that already offered by the Stackidea's Facebook integrations?

If it's too early to comment, that's fine. But if there are some concrete plans, I'd love to hear about them :)

I can speak in general terms to our individual features and philosophies. Mainly, JFBConnect is a social network integration extension. It's sole purpose is to make integration of social network features into your website easier. We have few, if any, real competitors in this space.

JomSocial, EasySocial, Community Builder and others are 'on-site social networking' tools. They're meant to create your own social network for your users. They may have Facebook login buttons and a few minor integration points, but the social network integration aspect ends there.

The same goes for EasyBlog or other software that has social buttons or a few specific features for interacting with social networks.

Some of the features are obviously recreated in JFBConnect, but there's many features JFBConnect offers.. all in one product.. that make things simpler.

For instance, we have Facebook and Google+ integration (with Twitter, LinkedIn and likely another 1 or 2 providers coming around the end of the year). You can import profile information into half-a-doze 3rd party extensions or your own custom database tables. If you use an extension that has a Login with Facebook button, you'll likely only be able to import user profile information into that extension. Additionally, we have a lot more registration options and configuration settings, since that's our primary purpose: automatic login, form-based registration, connecting existing Joomla accounts to new social networks.

On top of that, we have things like Open Graph Actions to automatically post user actions back to Facebook. This isn't just a new blog post or something an admin has done, this can be when a user votes or comments on an EasyBlog post.. it goes to their Timeline and their friends see how they are interacting with your site.

Beyond that, there's Facebook requests, Open Graph tags for all extensions, Facebook App notifications (coming soon) and a lot more.

I guess the big thing to realize is that if you only use one extension that has Facebook integration already, that may be enough if the integration it provides is all you need. If you need social integration across a lot of different extensions, done in a conflict-free way, with a lot of control over what gets pushed into or pulled out of your site to different social networks, JFBConnect is what you need.

I hope that helps explain our purpose,
Alex
