Hi,

I recently updated to the latest version of JFBC (ver. 5.1.1) and after that I noticed that system plugin tags {JFBCLike}, {JFBCComments}, {SCGooglePlusOne} etc. are not working any more which were working fine with earlier version. I am using JFBC in my video sharing website using HWDmediashare component so content plugin is of no use for me. I entered system plugin tags of JFBC into template file of HWDmediashare and it was working fine earlier. Now it stopped working and I am unable to figure out the problem.

My website url is www.vishvas.tv

Please help!!

Can you check in the Social -> Misc area of JFBConnect to see if you have an "Admin Render Key" set? If so, you need to make sure that key is included in the tags.. or make that setting blank for now and test.

Beyond that, can you test to see if the tags work on other pages of your site, or if you enable the Content plugin, if they show in articles? That will help narrow down where the problem may be as well.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex for your response!!

I have checked "Social -> Misc area of JFBConnect" and no render key is set there.

Tags are not working on any page of my website however login module is working.

I've also checked the content plugin by enabling system-content plugin and adding a sample article. No tags were added to that article while browsing it from front end.

Edit: let me also tell you that system-cache plugin is disabled.

With the JFBCContent plugin enabled, can you go to the Social configuration area of JFBConnect and ensure that the social buttons are actually configured to show up on your articles? I believe the defaults are for them to not appear there, which may be why they don't show.

Knowing, for sure, that they don't appear in your Joomla content will really help narrow things down. I wouldn't expect 'nothing' to show. There should either be the social buttons or the {JFBCxyz} tags, but it shouldn't be blank altogether.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex !!!

Issue resolved.. :)

Yes, you were right.. Social configuration area of JFBConnect was not configured to show social buttons in articles. It showed properly after configuration and due to that I come to know what the actual problem could be...

Actually there was no problem in JFBC system or content plugin in my website... The problem was with the HWDmediashare... :P

I updated Hwdmediashare the same day when I did JFBC update and that caused the problem. New version of hwdmediashare did an overwrite of all template files and hence my appended code (system plugin tags) was removed..

Now I added that code again and it started working like a charm... :D

Thank you very much for your support.

Regards
Aashish Vishvas

Awesome! Glad to hear that helped narrow down what was happening. In the future, we'd recommend using a template override for your modifications so that you don't loose them when you upgrade. If you're unsure of what that is, just let me know and I'll explain.

As always, if you have any other questions or feedback, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It certainly isn't required, but is very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
