Topic-icon og:type being incorrectly set for all articles

I have created an Open Graph object for JReviews called "showing" and set the directory as well as the category.

Unfortunately, now ALL articles on my site are getting a tag of: <meta property="og:type" content="rockyhorror:showing"/>

This would be 100% correct for JReviews content (and when someone likes a JReviews listing, Facebook says that they like a "showing" which is great), but for articles, if someone likes the article, Facebook also says they like a "showing."

Also, the object mapping only allows one category. I have three for these listings. Must I create three objects, all called "showing" to make that work? This presumes, of course, that we stop EVERY article from being a showing first ;)

Christopher,
The objects shouldn't be applied to Content. If so, that's definitely a bug and we'll have to test further.

To understand a little more about how the plugin works, if you set a Directory, the Category selection is ignored. So, if you set a directory, it should work for any categories associated with that category. If that directory is somehow encompassing more Joomla content categories, that could be the problem.

With that said, you shouldn't need to create 3 different objects if all the categories are in your directory. If there are 3 different directories, each with their own category though, then in that case you would need it.

I hope that explains with some more background and possibly helps you configure things different. If not, and you still have issues with the content getting the wrong values, let us know and we'll definitely dig into where things are going south.

Thanks,
Alex

Then I believe there is a bug. The directory is associated with three article categories:

1. Recurring Traditional Shows
2. Special Shows
3. Stage Productions

... but og:type is being set to "showing" for ALL article categories including:

1. Frontpage Content
2. Featured Content
3. Site Articles

... and so on. I see how category will be ignored, and that's good - meaning I don't need to create three objects for the three categories. But yes, ALL categories are being set to og:type=showing

Christopher,
Very sorry for the delay in getting back to this.

I can reproduce the issue, but it has a simple solution (for now). Please go to the Plugin Manager and re-order the JReviews plugin so it's ordered after (higher number than) the Content plugin. We're looking into why that ordering is important and will fix things as necessary, but from our quick test, that did it.

Obviously, after you make that change, test your jReviews and Joomla content objects to make sure there are no other unforeseen problems.

Thanks,
Alex
