**UPDATE**
Further to the original post, I have asked my daughter to go through the registration process and she has uncovered a new example of this redirection issue. Because I was fairly sure that a new, clean 1-click registration from the Facebook on the SCLogin module would work anyway, I asked her to test a different specific routine:
1. Click the Register button on the SCLogin module (top right position on the site)
2. This opens the Jomsocial registration form, which I have set to the minimum profile requirements. She completed the form, re-captcha etc and clicked 'Next'
3. This then seems to go into a re-direction loop with the error message:
"
The webpage at www.countydownspectator.com/index.php/co...=user.login&Itemid=1 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
Learn more about this problem.
Error code: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS"
4. Reloading the site cleared the error and showed her as not logged in.
5. She then clicked on 'Login' on the top SCLogin module, completed the username & password fields in the modal popup and clicked 'Log in'. This
did log her in to the site and added the 'connect your account to Facebook' button in the top module. (Hooray!)
6. She clicked on this to connect Facebook, which went through the authorisation process and the modal login - but
didn't add the profile info, avatar etc to her Jomsocial profile! (???)
7. She clicked 'log out' in the top module and, again, the process seems to have been hijacked by the setting in Jomsocial which redirected her to the JS Home page - which of course doesn't work because by this time you're logged out - instead of the intended log out redirection of the main Home page, as per the settings in the SCLogin module. A further site reload required...
8. Next, she clicked on the 'log in' button on the top module and this time selected the big login with Facebook option. The routine went as expected and her JS profile did now include info, avatar etc from FB.
9. Finally then she clicked on the 'log out' button in the top SCLogin module and was taken to the same 404 component error as per the original post in this thread.... (sigh)
That's as forensic a description of the process as I can explain it mate but you maybe want to go through something similar yourself. On one hand I really need to get this site working very soon now so any sort of fix or work around would be very welcome. However, it seems that there is some sort of conflict between the latest versions of JFBC & JS, specifically with regard to what happens on login & logout, and maybe something else with the way j3.1.5 site that has been upgraded from j3.1.0 handles menu item IDs, and I guess you will want to get a proper understanding of that.
If you want admin access Alex just register on the site (to test the process if nothing else...) and I'll make you a super admin/
One final comment - it strikes me that JS is a great membership & activities component and JFBC is an essential add-on to connect Facebook users, harvest the profiles etc, but what might be even better if JFBC, if installed, just took over the whole of the registration process, forms, account management etc from JS, leaving it to just provide the networking functions. What do you reckon, world domination eh?
Cheers man, hope to hear from you asap.
