Topic-icon JFBConnect Not Showing Up Anywhere - Joomla 3 / Jomsocial 3

I am a previous customer of your 4.x versions on Joomla 2.5 and Jomsocial 2.8

I just renewed my purchase buying the entire bundle. I have the JFBConnect, when through the AutoTune.

1. I have tried SCLogin module and get a popup with 'not defined'.

2. I placed {JFBCLogin} in the templates using the override directory as stated in your instructions. Not showing up at all.

I am thinking that these are related because something is not working correctly. I have been looking around for several hours and am asking for assistance.

With JomSocial 3.0, there's a new setting in the "Facebook Integration" settings area that's like "Use JFBC". If you enable that, it should automatically add JFBConnect's Login with Facebook button to your JomSocial templates. Adding the {JFBCLogin} tag manually shouldn't be required on JomSocial 3.0+.

As for your other issues:
* I see the SCLogin module on your page being 'hidden'. I un-hid it and clicked the Login button. The modal properly appeared and didn't not have the 'undefined' message in it. I'm not sure where that's coming from, or if I'm possibly testing wrong.
* The Login with Facebook button isn't working because there are 2 inclusions of the Facebook Javascript library on the page. There should be only one extension adding the Facebook Javascript file and it should be JFBConnect as we have to initialize it in a very specific way to make sure things work as expected. I can't be sure, but the other extension loading the library is likely the Facebook Like button at the bottom of the page. I'd recommend replacing that with the JFBCLike button or, if possible, instructing that extension to *not* include the Facebook Javascript library.

I hope that helps, but if not, or you clear those issues up and still have issues, just let us know and we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

I've made changes. I can get the Facebook connect to work with a small hiccup only if I turn System Debug turned ON.

I get the following error:

The website encountered an error while retrieving 2015wpfg.net/index.php?option=com_jfbcon...w==&cb=1375050303733. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Error code: 500

I currently have System Debug ON if someone could look at it and give me a hand. Linkedn is working.

Thanks

If you upgraded to Joomla 3.1.4, please ensure that you are also using JFBConnect v5.0.2.

Beyond that, I just tried logging in on your site, and I'm not even being redirected to the Login/Register page that you're seeing (that's throwing the error). The reason is because the Mootools library (part of Joomla) isn't being loaded on your page. That's required for our modal popup to work to notify the user that they are being logged in, which you have enabled. You'll need to either:
* Disable the "Show 'Logging In' popup:" setting
* Determine why the mootools.js file isn't being loaded on the page.

For the error itself, since I can't get to that page, I'm not entirely sure why you'd be having that problem. it's not an error message we've heard of before (other than a J3.1.4 upgrade problem). If that's not it, can you:
* Disable all Social Profile plugins you have enabled
* Disable SEF URLs (though it doesn't sound like you have them enabled)
Try again and let us know if that changes things.

Thanks, and we'll get you going,
Alex

The current Facebook login is located in the Jomsocial area. As a returning person logging in I get the error. It will also not create a new account. As I said before, your Linkedn works. Mootools is loaded via the template option.

I really need this to start working today. Been a few days of many hours of debugging. I am a long time previous customer and trying hard to get this going.

When I go to Jomsocial Community page and click on Facebook JFBConnect I get the error shown below. If I immediately go to the main url it will show that I am indeed logged in using JFBConnect via Facebook. It is some sort of redirect error??

Desperate for answers. Thanks

In addition to the above two posts, when a new user creates an account using JFBConnect, and they complete the registration, they will receive this error:

It looks like you disabled the "Show 'logging in' popup", which is getting past the issue I mentioned above. The mootools Javascript library isn't being loaded in the site now. I'm not sure what setting you used in the template, so I'm not sure if that would help or not if you re-enabled that setting.

As for your current issue, it does seem like a redirection problem. My suggestions to test/diagnose that would be as above:
* Disable SEF URLs
* Disable all Social Profile plugins you have enabled
If either of those helps resolve the issue, it will really help us narrow down what is causing the problem. For instance, if it's an SEF related issue, and you're using a 3rd party SEF extension like sh404SEF, our suggestion would be to configure it to 'skip' JFBConnect URLs.

I'm really not sure what's causing the issue otherwise though. If you'd like us to take a look, please feel free to Private Message us admin credentials to your site and we can dig into whatever is causing the problem. You can PM me by clicking the mail icon under my picture to the left.

Thanks,
Alex

I sent you a private message with administrative information. I will make sure I post a followup as to what the issue is so people will know. I am sure there is some quirky thing that is set that needs changing.

I think you're good to go now. I sincerely apologize for the problems. There is some shared code that we use between JFBConnect and JLinked. We work to ensure that when we update that library code, it remains compatible with both extensions and doesn't cause problems, but it looks like we missed something here. I'm guessing that you installed JFBConnect and then installed JLinked. JLinked has the *slightly* older version of the library code, which caused the problem you were seeing.

To fix, I simply re-installed JFBConnect v5.0.2 and things immediately started working.

Please test, of course, and let us know if you find any issues with this or anything else.

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex
